Right... so I need some help.

I had an old white iMac (intel) that was starting to give issues.. (very slow and panicking at least once a week...

I decided instead of trying to resolve the issue, that I would splash-out and upgrade to a brand spanking new 24" iMac.

It arrived yesterday, I did a quick automated migration from the old machine to the new one. Everything went smoothly and painlessly.

until...

This morning the brand new machine has Panicked!!!!

Is this because files were transfered from the last machine??? Is this a coincidental hardware issue on the new machine and totally unrelated to the Old iMac... i really thought that getting a new machine would solve m problems!

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Just to add, the panic occured while only mail and calendar were runnning. Parallels is installed but was not active when the panic occurred and I haven't been able to reproduce the problem since. System is currently at 10.5 busy doing the 10.5.5 update.

It is odd, but i have had kernel panics from software related issues. Quick question before that, any chance u moved the ram from the old machine?

Unfortunately to narrow it down, i had to troll the logs looking for processes that were causing problems,
so i need log files...in order to help.....otherwise a machine assesment.

Nope, didn't transfer the RAM, its a stock standard 24" iMac straight out the Box.

Will send you the Log File.

I suggest copying only the files you want over, i.e. Internet Fav's, Documents, Desktop, Keychain, Mail.plist and Mail, Movies, Photo's and Music.
Seems like some of your plist files are corrupt and looking for the guilty party takes a long time.

Morning!

Well after the 10.5.5 updates, Same problem. Looks like Im going to have to manually transfer everything across.. good times.

FYI here is the Log from the First Panic:
