You can't prepare food in five star restaurants using a Katana, though. Not to say that I don't love Katana's! But the real ones are crazy expensive
As for the knives blunting - most of the more expensive ones you can just send to the manufacturer and they sharpen them for free. This doesn't happen very often though.
Ever consider sharpening them? (My MiL clearly wasnt aware that it was possible until I brought a steel around and put a nice edge on her knife set.)

yep. thats what i meant by "cleaning them up"... should have been more specific though...
Expensive stuff is nice guys, i know i know....but id spend it on other stuff.... although..that should change when i get married one day
