I haven't bought it yet, but I have decided which one I'm going to get. And as it happens, I was supposed to shoot the work footy today, using the referee's camera (he happens to have the model I decided on), so I bought the first accessory I might need. He forgot his camera, so I never needed it after all, but now I have it:

Why clone out the Model number?

Anyway, I thought you already had one of those.

To leave you guys guessing ;)

Nope, I never had one. The 40D had enough curves to grab a hold of :) But since I've been asked to shoot a wedding I thought I might as well get into portraiture more.

That one fits a number of cameras - you going high or low? :)

Well, guess :)

It's too big for a rebel, I'll tell you that. And as tempting as it is, I have decided not to get a 40D again. I want the higher ISO.

All will be revealed soon - on payday :p

Its said that the 40D and 50D iso performance is similar (some say worse). So it has to be a 5D as the 40, 50 and 5D take the same batterry grip.

Nope, the 40D and 50D (and earlier xxD models) take the BG-E2N grip. The 5D takes the grip BG-E4 and the 5DmkII takes the BG-E6 grip. That said, they all look pretty much, since the bodies are so similar in size.

Coming to think of it, since the 5DmkII is just almost identical to the 50D, why didn't they just go one step further and have it use the BG-E2N?

Wow, congratulations! Trust it'll be a good replacement, and that you'll be getting it insured this time. ;)
