Kulula: Blacks can't swim

If you don't have a swimming pool at home or in your community or at your school then how the hell are you going to learn dolt ???.

You go to someone who has a pool, or to the municipal one, like I did in my privileged youth.

So racism is alive and well in South Africa ... golly ain't that surprising ... well a century of ANC governance will fix it :).

At least this troll has a sense of humour .

Indeed and long may they continue as clearly some people can't be trusted to change things out of their own.

So you agree whites are superior and that blacks need hands out? If you want that practise to continue, then I can't see any other reason.

I think they are very clever....they threw a curveball by saying it's a swimming thing...,maybe this gives them enough time to sort themselves out....or to "conform" if you will....though someone will have to tell Thabo that this is not Cuba and that big business still has rights..

Somehow I feel this is going to blow up into a racial thing again...ugh...

Going to? This thread shouldn't have even been posted here.

But it is very funny, blacks can't swim so we won't hire them for our airline.. rofl. :D

No one really think blacks can't swim, what a stupid argument that will make 10 pages min. of the usual News and Current Affairs stuff. :p

Exactly how I learnt how to swim.

We've never had a swimming pool at home, for tibby.dude's info.... ;)

Ditto on the never having a swimming pool, and I can swim fine. Not too far, because I'm unfit as hell, but I can still swim! And arguing that companies can train people to have the skills required to do a job is moronic. Why on earth am I bothering to pay a university to train me then? Surely the next company I'm going to work for can pay for 3+ years of studying, and wait until I'm done. It makes sense, you have to admit... (In case some people miss it, I'm being sarcastic)

So, black people can't swim? next time I have a pool party, I'll invite their management.

I was willing to give them the benefit of the doubt, and thought they could not hold onto skills, but this is pathetic!

On a personal level, they will never see my business again, and you can bet that there will be an e-mail circulating amongst Black proffesionals to not use them. I hope they get the full penalties imposed on them. Unfortunatly most of their clients are white and they will most probably support this cr@p.

That is of course if the countries majority managed to evolve that far as you did poorly so far. Racism is alive and well as you say and you are one of the biggies proving it and do not give the "Its impossible" cr@p again as We all know!

Exactly how I learnt how to swim.

Our municipal pool was in the white area and my brown butt was not welcome there lest I polluted the water for all the white kiddies frollicing in summer until the Separate Amenities Act was repealed.

To this day I can't swim but I pay for my kids to have a swimming coach and the gym where they train is more interested in the colour of my money than my butt.

Viva la revolution.

So are you racially black or brown ... because technically black people have got dark brown skins or butts as you put it.

Yeah your ANC buddies have clearly indicated they hate whites. Pitty we are not going to take it lying down hey?

No but reason and facts will not convince you otherwise but you know rules of the ballot box but unless hell freezes over the direction will not change in this country.

Aluta continua.

I hope your childern won't a bitter old man like you.

Yep, we're the clients boycotting SAA :D.

Seriously though, I didn't interpret it as a racial slight against black people. I read it as a required life skill that was lacking. I'm sure there are white people that can't swim.

It saddens me (not in an argumentative sense) that this affronts you, but the arrogance espoused by the DoL affronts me too :(:
"Our intention in the next two years is to deal with the top 100 (JSE) listed companies," Mkhaliphi said.

If they want to continue doing business in this country then they will respect the laws of the land

Good thing whites in this country aren't as racist as you are Tibby because if they were apartheid would never have ended since it too was the law of the land.

Why the hell should they hire someone who they need to train to meet the employment qualifications when there are people out there who are ready allready meet them?

My gosh! Such a lot of racial mudslinging. NoADSLyet, our ultimate racist, accusing tibby of being racist LOL: tibby defending the racist laws of the land when he is proud of disobeying racist apartheid laws!

I reckon this "excuse" by Kulula is quite pathetic, but I am still glad they are taking a stand against legislated racism.

For the rest, this thread is quite depressing.
:(

Well if there are companies on the JSE with such lame excuses, then they deserve to be dealt with.

Anyone here know an air hostess? I would love to know if this "swimming" aspect of the job is enforced, do they test your swimming abilities during the interview process?

I can just see the headline:

Anyone can FLY, but not everyone can swim. Kalula claims
