I am trying to update the Firmware for the Samsung LA32C350D1.
Dowloaded the firmware from samsung.com (africa website). The instructions say that there should only be one folder (once the install button is pressed), but I get two folders??

Also, the instructions say to go to Menu>Support but there is no such option??

Am I not getting it or can this not be done?

Extract the firmware.exe file to a memory stick. When you put the stick in the USB port it should pop up with an option to "Play Media" or "Software Upgrade" - or at least that's what mine did.

I also had 2 folders but it looks like it just chose the right one and upgraded. I think it's to go with the chipset the TV uses or something like that.

Thank you for your suggestion, will try again tonight and see if it works.

Did you see any difference after the upgrade?

Also, was the TV on or off when you plugged in the memory stick (does it matter?).

Will let know if it worked.

AFAIK no picture quality improvements, only menu upgrades and such.

Was hoping for a picture quality upgrade...

The download was 100+ mb so expected a bit more.

But will see what happens tonight (if I get it right).

Maybe there are more settings to tweak the picture a bit. But yeah, it's the most entry level 32" Samsung has, so don't expect much. :)

Sorry to bump this old thread but does the USB pOrt in this set support video playback or is it just a service pOrt?

Very much doubt it with 3 Series, for LCDs it's usually 4 Series and up that does media playback, 5 Series for HD playback.

I stand corrected. ;)

Although my sister is using this set in conjunction with a LG DVD Recorder Rh1999 I think is the model no and that has facility for usb flashdrive but like the rest of the unit it's unlikely to work very well...

was thinking of getting this for my office. see its going for r2500.

is it a good deal?

cool. dont really even want a tv. just saw it that price and thought

"that seems like a deal I shouldnt miss" lol.
