Lamborghini releases Off-Road pack for Urus

Lamborghini has released a special Off-Road Package for its Urus SUV, meaning you really can take your sports SUV offroad. Check it out!

The thought of taking the Lamborghini Urus offroad may sound a bit crazy, but it now can be done without risk of damage to the vehicle. Lamborghini has introduced the 'Off-Road Package', which enables Urus owners to venture off the tarmac with confidence.

The Off-Road Package for the Urus comprises some visual changes in the form of steel reinforcement on the bumpers, brushed steel exhaust tips and a change in ground clearance. The Urus also features metal underbody protection.

The Lamborghini Urus with Off-Road Package now offers up to 248 mm of clearance, which is 35 mm more than the standard model. 248 mm is an impressive amount and you should be able to clear many obstacles.

With the Lambo Urus now sitting higher, the approach and departure angles have changed and they're now rated at 27.9 and 28.3 degrees respectively. The standard model can only offer up from 20.3 and 26.8 degrees. This means you really can go up and down a steep mountain, if you really want to. Lamborghini has also made an all-terrain tyre available for the 21-inch alloy wheels and finally, there have been modifications to the driving modes. 'Terra' and 'Sabbia' offer more grip on slippier terrain such as grass, sand or mud, while Neve is perfect for those snowy winters.

Lamborghini Urus handed a staggering 597 kW by Manhart

You know Manhart Performance, right? The German tuner most famous for its outrageous tuned BMWs? Well, the firm has now turned its attention to Italian supercar manufacturer Lamborghini. And more specifically to the Raging Bull’s Urus “Super SUV” (as the Sant’Agata Bolognese automaker likes to call it).

The standard 4,0-litre twin-turbo V8 found under the bonnet, which produces 478 kW and 850 N.m of torque in stock form, has been uprated to deliver staggering figures of 597 kW and 980 N.m. For reference, that’s 31 kW and 360 N.m more than the Aventador SVJ, which smashed the Nürburgring Nordschleife record for production cars in 2018 (watch that video here).

To wring this much power out of the petrol engine, the Wuppertal-based firm fitted new turbochargers and an uprated exhaust system, and (of course) performed a spot of ECU remapping. According to the company, the ZF-sourced eight-speed automatic transmission has also been strengthened to cope with the added punch.

The exterior has received upgrades, too. The modified Urus features a new carbon-fibre front splitter, rear diffuser, extended wheel arches and rear spoiler. The Giallo Auge paintwork is complemented by black stripe decals, while red accents can be found on the inside of the quad-tailpipes. To complete the package, Manhart has fitted 21-inch gloss-black alloys wrapped in Pirelli P-Zero rubber.

A Wrecked Lamborghini Urus Is For Sale For R1.7 Million

The Lamborghini Urus hasn’t been with us for very long, but it seems that it doesn’t take very long for the owner of a newly released performance car to run out of talent fairly soon after they’ve bought it.

On the salvaging website of Copart, a newly wrecked Lamborghini Urus from Texas can be seen for sale. How much is it I hear you ask? Well, this Urus with missing front-end and all could be yours for the price of $130 000 (approx. R1.7 million). This is a bid, so the sky is technically the limit for how much it could go for.

Considering the base price of the Urus is at R3.5 million in South Africa, this isn’t too bad of a deal, although the damage is quite extensive. You’ll find smashed windscreen, airbags that have been deployed and some obvious engine and most likely front-suspension damage as well.

This will all add up to quite an expensive repair bill, but if you are a tuning company looking to experiment on the Urus, then this a great opportunity to snatch a bargain. If not, we’re sure the rear half of the car will make for a lovely addition to the man cave.

Kanye West Butchers His Lamborghini Urus

In any hue the Lamborghini Urus looks imposing but while designers in Sant’Agata needed no help making the Urus a head-turner, Kanye West thought he’d give it a go with his own custom Urus.

As you can imagine it is over the top starting with the cream-coloured matte vinyl wrap but those deep dish monoblock Boyd Coddington Wheels designed by Kanye himself completely ruin this super SUV.

Inside it has also received bright blue leather finish accents over the factory grey leather which would work if the exterior spec was not so vile.

wtf is this

Saw one in Stellenbosch last weekend......

Although pretty impressive, it really isn’t as extreme as Lambos used to be. Countach, Diablo and the LM002, it feels like they have watered it down.

If I had the money for one of these I would probably get myself a top of the range Range Rover.
