Lamborghini Urus SUV

There are much better looking SUV's than the Anus, not even that impressive in real life. The Anus is just a big MEH.

Tuned Lamborghini Urus Hits 100 KM/H In A Bonkers 2.9 Seconds

The Stage 2 kit for the Urus cranks things up to a stonking 947 hp (706 kW) and 1,250 Nm of torque which rockets the beast to 100 km/h in a ridiculous 2.9 second and on to a top speed of 340 km/h.

So what was done to achieve this outstanding performance gain? A new air intake system, some in-house chip tuning, an Akrapovic exhaust system and reprogrammed transmission controls. The fact that they squeezed nearly 1,000 hp with stock engine and turbochargers is quite something so we can only wonder what the reliability will be like.

Lamborghini Reveal Urus Pearl Capsule Design Edition

The Lamborghini Urus has been an epic success for the Sant’Agata Bolognese based manufacturer and to keep that momentum going, they have revealed a new design edition called Pearl Capsule.

This is essentially a Urus kitted out in colourful accents devised by Lamborghini’s own design team and you can choose from three bright hues (Giallo Inti, Arancio Borealis and Verde Mantis) as well as a new metallic grey dubbed Grigio Keres.

Super-SUV milestone! Lamborghini Urus production hits 10 000 units

Lamborghini says the 10 000th example of its Urus has rolled off the production line a little over two years after the 478 kW super-SUV hit initial markets.

The milestone vehicle is destined for Russia and is finished in a new Nero Noctis Matte black hue. Chassis number 10 000 also features the Italian firm’s carbon-fibre package and two-tone Ad Personam interior in black and orange.

Of course, the Urus has been the main driver of Lamborghini sales since its market launch. In fact, in 2019, some 4 962 units were delivered to customers worldwide, accounting for more than 60 percent of the Sant'Agata Bolognese-based firm’s total sales.

ROAD TEST: Lamborghini Urus

TEST SUMMARY

The arrival of the Urus has had a positive effect on Lamborghini’s balance sheet, as the Cayenne and Bentayga did for their respective makers. The Urus accounted for 4 962 of the brand’s 8 205 sales in 2019 delivered via a factory floor that’s doubled in size since the introduction of an SUV.

Volume and corresponding profit can only mean good things for all future Lamborghini products – low-slung or otherwise – but what’s most impressive about the Urus is that despite its shared underpinnings, the final product is as close to a true Lamborghini as possible.

It’s an endorsement of both Sant’Agata Bolognese and Volkswagen AG’s skills that a model like the Urus has been afforded a persona, performance and dynamic ability not easily confused with anything else currently offered by the group.
