@lantic R59 uncapped 'bolt-on' feedback

Heh I actually completely forgot about the MyBB not loading issue. Since last time I have a permanent static route for MyBB over my Web Africa capped account, so MyBB always work when I want to browse it.

Share your static route configuration please?

this sounds just like the support thread during openweb's heydays. even the dns fix is the same. im slightly disturbed now.

At R59 a month for what I get it would take a lot for me to be disturbed :p.

Yes, that deal is too good to be true and one would expect "problems" in the long run.

I had the fat-pipe +bolt on deal (when it was available) and after countless premature capping and slow mybb issues, I finally drop kicked them.

Life is too short.

I just use them for the bolt on. I use afrihost and web Africa during the day.
Capped accounts. 8gb and 4gb. Usually enough for the month.

You could try using the google DNS? 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4

Out of interest, I checked my DNS settings (Windows 7 machine), and they were in the exact order you listed them. Switched them around for fun - this evening / night, long delays (at times) in pages loading on MyBB using Bolt-on.

Doubt it had to do with fact that I have 8.8.4.4 first, followed by 8.8.8.8 - sure others are experiencing the same, whether DNS being used, or not ?

EDIT : speeded up again in last 30 secs to a minute ; before that, very slow.
...... running commentary ... tried to refresh main forum page, and it timed out .. someone at Vox is screwing around with the on/off switch :wtf:

and this is the issue:

"hey mechanic, come for a drive with me so I can show you this funny sound my car's making, oh wait, it's not doing it now".

I only have to be burned once (well, with Vox it was like 5 times), to know the writing is on the wall.

hmmmm. was usingh PPOE directly from my PC, and after adding google DNS onto it, it magically started to load the MYBB article i was trying to read.
will report back if the issue returns

NVM - article loaded, but trying to post this message failed , even with new DNS settings.
very very weird :/

This is working great for me, I really can't complain. I only really use it when I need to download something big, it's not always reliable for live streaming.
