@lantic R59 uncapped 'bolt-on' feedback

I am really impressed with this product. Just got it yesterday and the speed was screaming and constant. I also had a problem logging on to theit site and sent a support email early this morning. As soon as I got into work they called and its is resolved. The signup process took a while to complete (I think @lantic need to rethink their signup form maybe), but other then that this product and service have been great. If the billing issue that some people had has been resolve I think I'll be very happy for a long time :)

It seems to behave itself now. So glad it was fixed. Its a fantastic product with nothing less than full speed no matter the usage and I know cause first month I pressed it to see if its legit and it exceeded my expectations. Yes support is always top noch but the signup process is OMG long and a slow proccess. They seriouslly need to think about getting online signups going.

I agree. The system appears to work beautifully. We still have to wait for the next billing to be sure, but I already downloaded about 58Gb this month and I never experienced any slowdowns.

Can someone please confirm that this product is 100% working ito billing, speed, shaping etc?

had billing issue 2 months in a row but get's sorted out with in a day or 2 so only R69 for this account , sign up was long but got the account love it.

190 ms to D3 server last night :-)

I am happy. I had to pay extra this month, but it was my error. When I checked the logs I realized that I forgot to switch my ISP back from Atlantic and I downloaded quite a lot of data during office hours. My own mistake, but it only cost me R45 extra. Great service, and my billing seems fine. Speeds is 100%. I never experience any shaping. I even managed to download 90Gb last month. No complaints here. Sign up is a bit of a bother, but otherwise I would say go for it. My ADSL was upgraded from 1M to 2M, and Atlantic delivered from the word go.

Best uncapped out there by far. I would suggest they change the website to unshaped access cause I get max 4Mbps speed on this account on p2p usenet gaming you name it its full speed. youtube 1080p no problem. www.twitch.tv streaming is such a joy with this account and that site can chow so much bandwidth. I stream shoutcast on 320k streams with no problems. God I love this account.

Lucky for me I had a account so signup was easy but it can be a problem for new customers. Don't let that get you down cause its seriously one of the best accounts out there and no I'm not a fanboi I just like a uncapped account that works well and that is truely uncapped. Ohh and VERY BIG BIG BIG ups to cvanwie for sorting the billing out. Its working well. Thank You. :-)

Greetings everyone

I recently decided to sign up. I will use an "up to 10Mbps" line with this account when I have it.

Can anyone comment on how long it took @lantic to give you access to this account after sending them the forms? I just want to get an idea of how much longer I have to wait for my account.

I gave it a go the other day - was quite impressed as well. They just need to look at bumping the concurrent sessions to at least 2 as I was running into 'authentication problems' within an hour of starting up the account on a somewhat unstable adsl line. They can just lock the account to the adsl port or something if they want to.

Then I also have my doubts about their smtp server. When I tried to test it I had a whole bunch of my legit test emails being shot down by their outgoing spam filter. :(

@XJDHDR It went quite fast. Send in your docs and phone them to confirm that they got the docs. They phoned back a few days later in my case.

Well yes for it I see your point but some would abuse it. Cause it has no speed limit can you imagine what damage 2 x 10Mbps lines will do if some one would decide to use it like that if they ever allowed more than 1 concurrent connection.

I on the other hand have a very good line even though I am quite far from the exchange and it never dc and I get my full 4Mbps speed. My exchange is like never congested.

I signed up yesterday. Emailed the completed form with copies of id and proof of residence at about 09:30 to sales and received my account details at 12:30. Downloaded 30gb on bolt-on last night. I have 10mbps line and the account frequently hits 8500kbps+. Downloaded constantly between 18:05 and 05:30 and the data was correctly allocated to bolt-on. Best value for money account ever, but I secretly hope it doesn't catch on because it would be sad to see the service degrade

Welcome to the club i cant agree with you more...Perfect account for me ...

Alrighty then...I sent through my paper work yesterday, and received my account details earlier today. Logged in when I got home and everything is working fine. To complete the form is a pain, but the account creation seems to be pretty quick.

I'll upgrade my telkom line later in the month, but for now, this is my speedtest result:

Is the bolt on uncapped available with GIG4GIG Local?
And if so will the uncapped be international after 6pm?

PS Sorry if this has been asked, just couldn't read trough all 15 pages...

Why not just get Gig4Gig Home (R0/pm, 1Gig free, thereafter R15/gig) ? That's what I got, it costs the same as Gig4Gig Local and I can confirm the uncapped is full international at line speed.

I don't think this will happen, there is a shaping policy in place, but it's only in affect during times of congestion. Not something to worry about at this time!

BTW thanks for the compliment!! Glad to help.

I had my line upgraded by Telkom (4mbps) on Saturday and that got me thinking of how much data people actually use on this package. What kind of usage do you guys do?

I've had a look at my logs this morning just to make sure everything is allocating correctly (which it is), but noticed something a little strange. Every 3 hours 50 minutes (+-) there is a new session, but yet on my router, the connected time does not reflect this and was sitting on 2days (some hours) yesterday afternoon. Is this maybe @lantic's way to ensure the correct allocation of data?

Not at all. We only disconnect customers who have the Bolt-On package at +/- 6am and +/- 6pm weekdays only. If you are getting disconnected have Telkom check for line noise. This is commonly the issue which results in almost predicted disconnects.

Hope you enjoy the account!

Chris, read his post again. And please look into allowing more than one concurrent connection on one line for those of us sitting with unstable lines.

@Trixanno
They probably refresh the session for usage stats reasons. I know my last two I$ uncapped accounts recreated my session every ~55-59 minutes without interrupting my connection to keep usage up to date or whatnot. In short, I do not know and as long as it does not bother you I would recommend that you do not lose any sleep over it.
