@lantic R59 uncapped 'bolt-on' feedback

anyone else's vox R59 uncapped seem 'speed capped'? I cant get more than 10mbps and I have 20mbps vdsl. Other capped accounts I get full speed.
If this a new thing vox is doing, thats fine, but I just want to make sure something is not wrong on my side.
Tough to test, I max my 10Mbps line on this bolt-on, don't have a faster line to test on.

Yes I can confirm this. WOW what a shocker Vox.... No notice nothing just started limiting the bol on speed to 10Mbps with MAX download rate of 1.19MB/s

This is swak Vox and I expect a answer @voxy @cvanwie....... Why not just limit the abusers at x amount of usage but now limiting the speed is NOT ON!!!!!!!!!

I have a 50GB fatpipe and uncapped bolt on with a 13.2Mbps line and bolt on is limited to 10Mbps now.

EDIT: Switched to my Telkom and ITNT capped account and its full speed. Looks like the bolt on is being targeted because it might be playing a big role in the IPC congestion. Aww well I've been using Vox for long was planning on moving my line to them because of the cheap 20Mbps line rental but I'm just going to stick with Telkom softcap.

Yep, my line is also being limited to 10Mbps exactly.

Not going to speculate why yet, maybe somebody pressed the wrong button. If it is an intentional move from Vox then it will make my decision to cancel so much easier.

If its intentional I'm cancelling and keeping my softcap. If its a mistake and gets fixed I'm moving my line to Vox and cancelling my softcap with Telkom. Right now though I'm leaning more to Telkom Softcap than the slowish browsing on Vox which I've been having today. Not sure if its DNS or what....

Yes, with the new price reductions on Telkom's side their offerings are looking quite good now. My Vox connection has been iffy for the last month or two while my other Telkom account has been rock solid.

Here is a comparison of the connection quality for the past week.

Telkom:

Enough said.

EDIT:

Here is a graph of all the traffic on my firewall to show that the line isn't being taxed heavily at all, so this is not the cause of the latency shown on the Vox graph.

Because this graph is for my LAN it is obviously just inverted (out is download and in is uploads).

Wow. Just WOW! Time to do some research into my options, is there ANY ISP that we as consumers can trust? Oh well, i guess the time was coming. Thanks for the info kevinswan007!

Wrong thread?

But you get day time data (10GB+), from 00:00 to 07:00 you're uncapped, should you deplete your softcap, uncapped is forfeited, until you load data.

FTFY ;)

Is there a link for the Telkom soft cap package? Or is it just the normal caped package and is it uncapped on the whole weekend?

Thank you, that is all I needed to know.

Surely there is a thread more appropriate for Telkom ISP questions.
Well people were mentioning it in this thread, so I asked here, seemed very relevant to me, considering that is what some people are considering moving to.

...smartass.

Just think it's bad form. Irritated by isp so let's discuss our options in our current isp thread.

Still limited to exactly 10Mbps on my main Fat Pipe account with bolt on. This is a rate limit of 10Mbps the entire time the bolt on is active.....

I'm stuck with 4mb so still peachy over here :p although, I also noticed some slow browsing yesterday.

After I got my account working again, I klapped some bandwidth on friday and managed to finish another batch of roll-over before 6pm, and it didn't cap itself - yoohoo :) Now let's see what happens monday morning ;)
