Laptop screen/motherboard damaged?

So my laptop started giving me this screen?

Probably damaged to a degree where buying a new one is better than looking to repair?

Great advice. Tried all the connections and nothing happened on the external monitor. Probably motherboard then?

Often there is a setting to swap between onboard and external display. Differs per laptop model.

Could also be the connection ribbon between the laptop and display. Might be a bit lose or ribbon cable is damaged.
