Largest South African websites

a nice way to spend your precious cap/threshold on.

Mmmm. I'll take it with a massive bag of salt - impressions are difficult to count at the best of times.

So are they saying in effect that every single person with a broadband connection in South Africa visits News24? I highly doubt that.

No, but in many companies there is only one connection, but many users.

So maybe a useful survey for MBB to do at some stage is to see how many people have access to internet, rather than actually own a connection.

Here they are talking about Internet users - hence x browsers (cookie based measurement) have accessed News 24. Quite accurate I think...

I would have thought that MXIT with their millions of members and daily traffic, would be in there somewhere - or do they distinguish what device you use to access a site.

MIXIT login gives you a welcome splash screen and an advertisement - I would think this qualifies as a website

Surely MXIT must have higher traffic than Hotmail.za and Webmail ?

Or am I comparing apples with onions ;-)

rpm, do you include or get stats from self-help portals such as the banks or mobile operators (4me in Vodacom's case)?/

On some days 4me approach 1 million unique login's / day. Which must imply more than a million unique logins / month. (have asked for the monthly stats)

Hi Vodacom3G

We do not have any audited stats from these guys, and can therefore not include them. They are however welcome to join WASA (http://www.wasa.co.za), get their stats audited and be included.

If I can get audited stats from Vodacom I will be glad to add them to the list...
