Hi guys,

Just wanting to know if anyone else is experiencing issues with their international traffic? I'm in Woodmead and suddenly about 2 days ago my international connection (WebAfrica) has become VERY slow, I am experiencing about 12,000ms latency in World of Warcraft and most International sites will not even open. What's going on? Should I call a Telkom techie, or is this something else?

Richard

My international connection seems to be fairly standard. Using Webafrica as well. I have noticed a slight increase in my latency, but I installed Vista and at the moment am blaming that. Only about 50-100ms though.

That sounds pretty stupid, your new OS increasing latency?

Installing Vista didn't change anything ito latency (for me) far more likely to be some network issue.

I'm on WA and haven't noticed anything out of the ordinary... Touch wood...(D@mn Friday 13th)...

Could a (badly configured) firewall hamper a connection's latency ?

(I'm a noob with firewalls, up until now it's only been hardware (router) and Win XP firewall :p)

Must be something driver related. Though have updated the latest drivers for my network card. Both are installed on my machine (XP and Vista) and I get a better latency through XP. Either that or some firewall setting that vista has.
