I have an Afrihost pre-paid account (R15/gig jobby) that is used to play online games like Black ops and so on. At random times during the day or night there is high latency spikes that gets so bad that you just time out when on a game server. Then after say 5 - 30min all seems to be back to normal with a 40 - 50ms ping.
Now here is the kicker...when connected with a Telkom/SAIX account there is no spikes at all even thought the ping is at ± 200ms because of the peering issue but everything in game still runs smoothly.
Any idea what can be the cause of this little problem seeing that an IS ADSL account is the choice to have when playing almost any online FPS games these days for lower latency due to the MWEB/SAIX peering issues?
