Latest available OS

Anyone having probs sending a MMS on OS6? I go "insert" then "Picture" and then press the return key. After a bit it just shows a red x next to it. :-(

Well now that you mention it i don't actually have a send MMS option, don't actually care as its a waste of money.

I agree...but my mom aint got a blackberry! I swear...if she does not take one with her next upgrade I am gonna threaten her with old age home when she turns 60! tsk

To send sms you basically start new SMS and then you press menu and then "instert"

What phone does she have, you can do what i did. My Moms got a Nokia 5300, i setup gmail on the handset and the phones nice enough to keep the connection active allowing gmail to utilize its push function, works nicely. She is getting a BB end of next month, you can do what i did and sell her on the Pearl 9105, its old school meets blackberry. These old peoples biggest issues is the qwerty, you take that out of the equation and you've won like 90% of the battle. Also she has no choice in the matter, she is the 1 remaining family member without a berry and her sister, who normally is quite stupid went out and got 1 so she cant be shown up now can she.

On my 9300 the battery life seems shorter on OS6 (.380) compared to the OS5 it came with. Anyone else noticing this?

Mine seems to be longer, but im using .424, but .380 lasted about the same, i get about 3-3.5 days out of my battery on normal use

Mine also seems a bit shorter. Not by much. Still getting two days with light usage....but on OS5 it did seem to last a bit longer. Not a train smash for me though. Have you noticed memory leaking on yours AirWolf? I have on mine...perhaps that is causing the battery to drain a bit faster also?

Wow that's long. Might give .424 a go. There's only the leaked version of that so far, right?

I was getting 2 days easily before. Now I'm struggling to get a day and a half. Free memory before was over 100MB now it's about 55MB (but I did also install a few new programs). I use QuickPull now and then to do a reset, and last week it showed memory was about 25MB before reset and back to 55MB after so the memory leak might be the problem.

I think there a signal issue on 424.
My signal level has dropped, hence the shorter battery life, even on BBM, the messages arent instant, first you get the little red clock, then the ))) then it goes through...

Even the BB Browser is much slower than 245, 318, 380 and 418. Not sure if its the SPs messing around because the 9800 users are also having problems.

Had issues with BIS and BBM yesterday too on .380. VodacomData did say something about a cable break in the Midrand area yesterday.

Installed .424 - seems to be running smoothly. Will have to check battery life and memory.

The scrolling problem on the menu accessed from the top of home screen is sorted in this version

Any feedback on how BB6 ..424 is behaving on the 9300 (Battery life, compatibility etc) - I have the file but am a bit aprehensive to update my BB9300 as its not a week old yet and am still enjoying it as is. Having played with OS6 on a Torch, I would like it on the 9300.

Better battery life on .424 than the official release. No memory leaks; very stable.

Sounds good - any other 'reviews' on .424.

Any funnies on the update process besides deleting the 'vendor' file??
