Curtains will cover the window to left of tv position. Problem is to the right side. There is a sliding door going into a sun room. No curtains for this door. Will test my current plasma on Friday.

Just get it and keep it in storage until you can use it. :p

Won't be any left soon.

Some feedback for those interested.

Bought the 48" full HD Samsung LED from Kalahari for 7499.

Delivered within 24 hours.

Loving the TV. No Smart features, but nice looking thing, very thin bezel. Not too big for the space.

The R500 voucher which was meant to be included with the deal has not yet reached me. But Kalahari is following up about that.

All in all, I'd recommend it.

These H-series last of the plasma TV's seem very stripped down compared to previous years.

It really looks like they had a meeting and spit balled ideas on how to make a terrible plasma. I love my 51d550 and was set on buying a 60inch plasma but I have no idea why anyone would buy this one nevermind recommend it.
Its like watching the lego movie all the time.

I did my good deed of the week over the weekend, a huge President Hyper opened last Thursday and Saturday night a friend told me guess what I bought a new TV, 43" plasma for R3899 what a bargain and very chuffed with herself, Luckily I bought a new TV about a month ago so I did my homework then, the 43H4000 plasma has a resolution of 852 x 480! I told her you take it back on Monday and buy something HD.

Mister Pot, what input would you have regarding Hisense in general? That 55 incher is looking like a really attractive option for both my lounge and wallet at this moment...

Sub R10k 55 inch smart 3D? Yes please. Oh, four year warranty as well? How kind of you!

Do you want 3D specifically?

Not too bothered about the 3D especially no. Nice bonus but definitely not a requirement, this set stands out due to the package, size, functionality, and price

I wouldn't. But it will be fine for anyone wanting a large screen.

Things to consider with cheaper brands:

1. Worse image processing, lesser picture quality
2. Less uniform lighting, white bleed, white spots
3. Lesser viewing angle
4. Cheap remotes
5. Poor menus lacking advanced and even some basic options

Will keep those in mind and check for any symptoms in store (with video from cell)

Not too worried about the menus etc, as it seems to run on a form of Android (4.2.2 I think)

Will be hard to pick up the symptoms under thousands of watts of lighting, best is to find an AV store with dimmer viewing area, that sells Hisense.

Is this the Hisense going for R9 999?
The LG 55LB652 is on special at makro for R11 999.
If you go tonight between 6pm & 8pm I believe you'll get an additional 10% off that price. It works out to R800 more than the Hisense, which I would say is R800 well spent.
I heard about the discount from a makro employee, give them a call to confirm.

So, my 46ES6200 that I purchased in December 2012 was forcibly removed from my home...
Waiting on insurance to settle, but really disappointed by this inconvenience.

Consolation is that the sets are slightly cheaper than they were, and I may just get something slightly bigger for what I paid back then.
