What about these two:

Sinotec
Hisense

The Sinotec is great with 5 year warranty but just worried about both their displays at UHD or will they be great?

Yeah I saw the Hisense and it looks. I prefer it over the Sinotec cause of HDMI inputs even tho it two year less warranty. Just worried about the quality or is that not something I should worry about?

Why would you want to buy a UHD now when the standard hasn't been properly confirmed yet and you'll probably need to replace it a year or two from now.

Not sure hey, they haven't stood the test of time yet. Sure, from a price/warranty perspective they are good, but like their TVs, there's usually a reason they're cheaper.

cheaper price ?
I think its a question of-the new kid on the block
needs to make waves to be noticed

Yeah that's my point. My Onkyo does "4k" up-scaling but honestly how decent can that be in any case. Will wait until the market and the content actually matures a bit before making any more purchases.

Hey, dude - if it's not too much trouble, can you try that out with a blu-ray video and let us know? I'd be interested to see what the result is...my blu-ray player upscales DVD to 1080p and I was actually taken aback by the improvement (DVD's I'd watched previously actually did look better on my TV). Colour me surprised.

I agree with what you are saying. I was just thinking that cause of the price compared to other same sizes, it would make sense to go that route of UHD. I'd obviously love a 55-60" TV but they don't seem to be in my price range.

Good point...I missed that you had the choice between a 4K and 1080p TV at the same price point (also been wondering why anyone would buy 4K at the moment).

Yeah so that is my dilema. I can go for a Hisense 55" for R9999 or a Samsung 50" UHD - the bigger one is more tempting but just don't know how picture quality will hold up against the Samsung with movies and games.
