LCD and Plasma Bargains and Discussions thread

You guys crack me up :D
Now just need to wait for for that 59" Sammy to near R16k again so I can jump on it!

Whats life without some lively corrections of opinionated and outdated information :)

Yep that 59" at that price is good. I am leaning toward a FHD projector but damn they do cost a lot.

Why would you want to jump on it?? :O

Because at that price its like a magic carpet ride that you want to jump on! Capiche...?

@Wily: I Have looked at Projectors in the past and although some of them provide great picture quality at a massive size I'm always put off by the fact that you need to have your whole Room set up quite dark for maximum benefit.

Yet there are shorter threads that have been closed. The reason for the thread closures you ironically refer to is from people who can't handle others and their opinions so resort to trolling, personal/ad-hominem attacks, destroying the thread, etc. like you are now and did in the previous threads leading to their closure. :p ;) Shame, you should try just helping people, instead of being such a Negative Nancy. :D

PP - the thread was closed because of YOUR trolling and provocative posts - I know. So PLEASE FOR THE SAKE OF EVERYONE STOP IT NOW.

Hi-Fi corp have been selling (LED) 55" for 10999 this weekend.

Yes, as per the OP, those are the largest cost-effective 55" LED-LCDs, nothing bigger. I think that OP would stick to the premium brands, though. See the Dion Wired link for pricing on sizes of LCD/LED-LCD above 55". :erm: $_$

Wow the LA46D550 is a good price, wonder if the wife would allow me to get another one, so I can put them side by side ;-) the LG also isn't badly priced.

South African sites seem to state the LG 47LK530 is 100Hz while USA sites seem to state it has TruMotion 120Hz. Does this mean our model 47LK530 is not the same as their model 47LK530?

US = NTSC = 60/120Hz/etc
SA = PAL = 50/100Hz/etc
