Does anyone have a 55LA8600 and 55F7500 i would like to hear the pro and cons of each

Thanks

Sure, unless you're willing to pay more for superior picture quality, and can stretch to R8,900 for the Samsung PS51F5500 51" FHD plasma.

I'm confused, I went to have a look at Dion Wired today. The 51inch plasma they have on special for R8900 is the 4900.

R8,900 at Dion Wired.

Just came back from Dion Wired, they don't even have the PS51F5500 - never did. The salesman told me Dion Wired focus on LED panels mostly.
They are only selling the PS51F4900 for R8900 which is only 1024 x 768, has no SmartHub, No Apps, No Voice Control, No Motion Control, No Quad Stand, No Built-in Wireless LAN.

I bought the PS51F5500 at game, and even though their price is R11,000.00 they knocked it down to R8800 for me. (cause of makro special)
So including the R200 delivery fee I paid R9000 in total.

THE MAKRO SPECIAL FOR R9000 ENDS MONDAY THE 9TH, SO IF YOU WANT THIS TV, YOU BETTER BUY IT THIS WEEKEND.
COME TUESDAY, MAKRO IS CHARGING R10,000

Sorry guys, I saw it advertised from DW online for R8,900. They must have updated it to the HD Ready model afterwards.

Good to know Makro have it at that price, with the ability to price beat from Game.

Yep if you buy it from Game they will price beat it by R200, so basically free delivery :)
They had to call in the floor manager as it was a R2200 discount, and he wasn't too happy I think - but they did it!

Next week it will go up to R10K, so now would be a good time to buy the PS51F5500 if you're looking for a 51" 3D Smart Plasma.
This might be Samsungs last plasma range too, we can never know. Damn you LED fans! :D

I've been itching for this one for some time now. Great price, great screen. I sit 2-3 meters from screen, so I suspect it is just too large though and my current 42" is probably more than sufficient. But oh my...the gadget lust...

If only they had a 46" version - I would have jumped at it.

2 - 3m is perfect!

In fact that's the range you ideally want to sit to fully appreciate FHD on a +-50".

DO IT!

its not too big it just right :)

Now can anyone tell me whether the TV will play MKV's over wifi, or will it need a hard connected LAN Cable?

Worried about SD channels though. Arrrrghh...should probably just go tomorrow and do it.

You'll be OK if you have an HD decoder. SD over HDMI is improved.

Otherwise set 4:3 mode. :D

Or if you're really worried, get a 43/51" HD Ready 1024x768 plasma.

But then 2 - 3m is a bit close for HD...

Thanks for the help guys. MyBroadband...helping me spend money since 2007. :p  :)

I setup that exact TV myself, not a big deal. All the screws are the same btw, you just need to cut the thread with force.

Got a chance to see it instore today and this plasma does have great picture quality.
I Saw this review of the TV - does the ZA model also come with 2 remotes or just one?

Well I hope there is two remotes otherwise I'm gonna be pissed :erm:
Just waiting for my SO to get back later today and i'll open the box with her, and i'll report back.

I didn't check out the tv or it's quality much at the store, I purely bought this on specs alone - I think it's a bargain of note getting the F5500 at the same price as a F4900 model!
