LCD and Plasma Bargains and Discussions thread

Any reviews on the 65" JVC on the 2nd page of this catalogue?: http://deals.mybroadband.co.za/page.html#20188

I have noticed JVC screens going cheap at Game for a couple of months. My only concern is that is this the real JVC or has the name been taken over like how Hi-Fi corp took over the Sansui brand. In other words its not the real JVC. Usually its cheaper Chinese stuff with the JVC label on it much like the Sansui.

I'm quite sure this is not an actual JVC panel. I will say however that I have seen the model in-store and it doesn't seem all that bad. I have a Mecer Chinese 42" panel that has not given me a single day's problems in over 6 years, whilst I have heard of many people suffering with their LG and Samsung TV's.

Just want to find out, is the below LG UHD TV one of the new ones with updated tech etc or old model:

LG 65UH6150

Last I looked into UHD TV's everyone was talking about waiting for updated tech so just want to make sure.

I have a XBOX One S so HDR gaming and 4k Blu Ray support is a must. Other uses are DSTV and Plex, NEtflix etc.

Any advice?

Got the 55" JVC curved UHD TV that game had for black Friday.

EDIT: I refunded the TV because it is trash. Stay away!

So, I'm getting an itch to upgrade to 4K. I currently have the Samsung 65" E8000 plasma.

Been looking at the Samsung KS8000/9000 series but the LG OLED range has really caught my eye.

I was interested in the OLED B6 65", but LG don't bring it into this country for some reason. Next is the OLED E6, but it's hellishly expensive, and I don't like the idea of paying for Harmon Kardon speakers and 3D which I don't need/use.

So, my question is, are there likely to be price drops early next year? Do you think these sets will come down in price with new ranges being released next year? In other words, should I wait?! I need something to calm the trigger finger down :)

What you guys think about HISENSE 43 INCH SMART FHD TV MODEL - 43K3110 going for R4,599.99

Hisense haven't been good on the Smart TV front with their software. Check it out in-store if it's capable enough. It's not a major issue if you have a PS or Xbox.

Well, besides the deluge of replies I got (:D ), I found a good reason to delay - the CES in January (Consumer Electronics Show). Lots of new technology and TV's to be announced.

Aargh! Hirsch is offering 15% off everything today, and will give me the LG OLED 65 E6 at R77520 for today only. Will also get a R5000 voucher from LG to spend at Hirch's, plus a loyalty card which, with this purchase, will give me R1300 to spend their as well.

They also tell me this price is below cost for them. Anyone got some words of wisdom for me?

10 yrs fixed-deposit at 9% interest, compounded = R200 034.47.

Value of TV after 10 years = R0.00

Value of that TV's experience = priceless.

Just do it! :D

I was under the impression that everyone on MyBB buys things cash.
