WTF, there doesn't seem to be ANY channel in the country that will air the race?
Seems like I pay R469 to MultiChoice every month for 8 sports channels that mainly cater for rugby...tossers!
 
I guess a 24h timeslot is considered to valuable for those few that would watch it.
 
I'd love to watch one... always wanted too :)

Dunno how long I'd last before I fall asleep but I'd be willing to try! :)
 
I watch until the last commentary slot at 23:00 & then record it to DVD, watching what I've missed the next morning on time compression.

But ja, seems there is no Le Mans thanks to Supersport.
 
I'm sure there are many other sports that do not get coverage... for instance it is rare to see anything but highlights for hockey, netball, baseball matches (although I am sure ESPN must show a few of these!) and these are all events in which South African teams compete.

Also as stated by someone already this is a 24 hour event so anything other than highlights would not appeal to a very wide audience. You yourself admitted to not watching the entire event in real time... highlights would be enough for most people and that is what TV caters for... who would buy advertising time at 2am?
 
I went one year when I was just out of college. We slept in tents, forged ourselves some press credentials and got ourselves all access press passes - eating and drinking courtesy of the manufacturers all weekend. . .

It's odd that there's no coverage this year as the race has been extensively covered in previous years. it's quite a spectacle the le mans, the comrades marathon of motorsport if you like and I too am disappointed that it's not being televised. Perhaps fans have become bored with watching Audi's domination, year in and year out...
 
Seems like the Peugeot's have the nearest Audi beat by more than 4 seconds. Was the same case last year until the race started when the Audi's ran away from them.

I'm rooting for Audi, mainly because I also have a TDi. Would be nice of the Pescarolo's kick Peugeot's ass as well!

Wow, good for the Peugeot's but le mans is as much about reliability as it is about pace and I think that's where Audi will have them licked!!! Vorsprung Der Teknik!!! Go the four rings!!!! Damn it's a shame it's not being televised!!!

I can't believe SS is not showing Le Mans this year.:mad:
Le Mans is one of the few decent events shown on SuperSport! Please go supersport.co.za website or phone and complain. We must have Le Mans back next year!
 
Great win for Audi!
Loss for SuperSport IMO, it was one of the best races this year round.
