I think number 1 thing to do is get up numbers. I am sure you have details on how many people have registered for the forum. Lets take it to the next step and submit a petition.

Unfortunately this will take away anonymity, but it shouldn't hurt us to start doing things civily. So please list your name below mine, and lets get started.

Dear Telkom,

As an internet power user, understanding that the internet is is the information superhighway, I am continually looking for the most cost effective solution for access to the internet. Your ADSL product has excellent potential.

However, some restrictions have been placed on the service, which we would like to appeal to you to change. I propose that the 3GB cap be extended to at least 15Gb. Perhaps this would encourage more users onto the ADSL network, which would allow our great country to be on a more level playing field with the rest of the world.

Trusting you will take this matter to heart and act on our petition.

Regards,

1. Matthew Kent

All those with me, file in... And I would welcome any ideas to additions to the above. Perhaps e-mail this to anyone you know who feels the same way.

BTW, thanks for the forum.

1. The cap is too small.
2. More importantly, after whatever cap, I should retain a minimum throughput to international sites of 64kbps. Currently it is virtually 0.

I agree to all of the above.

I would also like to add:

1. A guarenteed local throughput. (Maximum)
2. A guarenteed intl. throughput. (At least 256kb/s)
3. Local traffic does not get added to your cap.

Yes, we need numbers....a lot. This forum is very new. All of us should advertise the forum as wide as possible.

We should advertise on newsgroups and everywhere.

With sufficiently large numbers, the Great Monopoly may be forced to make a move.

Cheers

Slow down Karnaugh,

People are desparate, can't you see? If Telkom wants a cap at all cost, then push it higher. That will be the second prize.

First prize is NO CAP. [^]

If any cap it should at least be on par with the few providers that have caps overseas.
eg. NTL(UK) 1gb per day

The fact that the website was mentioned on SAFM yesterday morning must have brought some traffic to the site! Maybe you can take it up with Stephen Lang (if not already done) who has the show on Monday mornings to try and get some exposure.

WOW! This is really good news! And the Forum is only 2 weeks old!

Things may happen sonner than we expected.

Hi linkmed

I am really curious...do you know what was said about the website on SAFM?

Cheers
