Lets talk Chassis!

Anything CoolerMaster for me - sorry I haven't read the whole thread.

I have a CoolerMaster Gladiator 600. Fantastic piece. The downside is it's not good on carpeted floors because the PSU is on the bottom of the chassis.

Hmmm i have my case on a carpet and my PSU is on the bottom, why is this a problem? You got me worried :D. Dust or something? Carpet fibers?

Yes, more dust gets in with a bottom mounted PSU meaning you will need to clean your PSU more often (every 6 months or so should be fine).

I should be getting my new case in about 30min... so stoked. It's simpler looking than my current one but new goodies just gets me all excited for some reason

For sure, if your case has either intake or exhaust fans, then air is being drawn into the case. Even with filters of some kind, dust, hair or fibres will be sucked in. These tend to accumulate on fans and heatsinks (like on your CPU and graphics card), causing unexpected overheating problems.

The case does come with a filter, but it still accumulates a hell of a lot of dust.
