Let's talk PC gaming peripherals

My gaming headset is a Blackshark V3 Pro, but I don't use it in competitive gaming. Its ANC is good enough. So I can use IEMs with them, and I still use my very old Cooler Master Storm Resonar's. Otherwise it is the best headset ever made by Razer.

For competitive gaming my Philips SHP9500 + M-Audio Super Dac still reigns supreme. They are simply too accurate to let go. All I need to do is replace the cups on the headphones.

I currently have a mish mash of peripherals, including but not limited to:

Steelseries Arctis Nova headset
Free Wolf F75 keyboard
Marvo KG991W Monka Storm keyboard (using this @work)
Logitech G502 Hero mouse
8BitDo Ultimate 2 controller

I'm looking to replace the G502 with an Attack Shark V6 one day. The newer brands are really good, and the quality (aside from my first Free Wolf F75 that died shortly after I procured it) is really decent for what you pay.

The incumbents have been resting on their laurels IMHO. Much like Intel's stagnation with 4C8T CPU's until Ryzen came along.
I also have 2x 8BitDo Ultimate 2C controllers. Not sure what the difference is between 2 and 2C. They were cheap. Got them so my daughter and I can play some old games.

I'm in the cheap seats,
Reddragon centrophous S101 mouse, keyboard gave up a long time ago, but the mouse still works,
and recently got my 1st ever mechanical keyboard reddragon aryaman model K569 rgb

since I got my Keyboard its got a few weird issues like the lights are stuck on sometimes, and a few keycaps are missing,
was second hand, so beggers cant be choosers.

For an everyday pick me up controller the 2C is within the sweet spot.

You only need the Ultimate 2 when you are into playing shooters, but then there is the Cyclone 2 which is better at shooters. IRRC, all the Ultimate 2 have over the Ultimate 2C are TMR sticks and better triggers.

Fighting and beat 'em up games, the Nova 2 Lite wins.

Yeah they work well the 30 mins I have used it. I'm just not used to gaming with a controller so even "controller first" games are a challenge to me. Still trying to get to grips with it. Been on keyboard and mouse since I was 4.

Other peripherals on the desk:

And an R800 headset that plugs into the minifuse which I purchased from some audio shop. Nothing fancy but works well for me.

Also are these worth it vs the R1500 of an xbox controller?
I read somewhere you can link multiple to the one dongle (kids do co-op lego and beachbuggy)

I got the T4 pro for not much more and its going great.
problem is all these controllers get stick drift at some point. Before that we had many PS controllers and they great but why pay more than double if they going to get stick drift like the cheaper ones too. Son have the 8bitdo and its almost 2 years and still great.

You will get used to it in no time, but I am not FPS with a game controller. I have played Cronos, Tomb Raider, etc., with a game controller and it was a good experience. Fighting games and beat 'em ups are genres that I play, sometimes competivily (non-esports). I am currently getting into rhythm games as well. Controllers has its place where it shines.

My daughter was playing BeamNG.drive two nights ago and she changed the camera angle somehow and for the life of me I could not get it back.

OT, but get LookPilot on Steam. Yes, I know there are open-source things, but LookPilot works well. It is a head tracker, not an eye tracker, but it works incredibly well with these games now that you have mentioned camera angle. You don't even need a good webcam.

Got one of these:

Both 10/10 for my needs

One thing that I like about the Redragon keyboard chassis is that they are easily maintable. It is sad how expensive switches have become. Some packs are as expensive as a new keyboard.

I like the Outemu switches used by Redragon, though, they need to be pre-lubed/lubed.

My main is still a K599, and though not as responsive (latency-wise), it is a very good product at its price point. I don't know who is bringing Redragon into SA, but some parrallel imports are somehow cheaper than retail. It is the same with the Mchose Ace 68 Air that I have posted here. You have to wait a while though.

Mine wouldn't be considered value products.
I use a Logitech G502 x plus mouse and a Asus Rog Strix 2 96 wireless keyboard.
I generally keep my devices for a very long time so happy to spend a bit extra on them.

Awesome products. The main reason behind this thread is to make buyers more aware about them having options and choices. Your post could very well make someone look into getting an ASUS ROG Strix Scope II.

I appreciate that ASUS has invested more into putting out quality product, but they have also doubled down on their premiums.

How is your Logitech G502 X Plus? No double clicks? The last I heard they are again using a new switch or rather new LIGHTFORCE, but I think all their high-end mice now use the hybrid optical-mechanical switches.

I was a long time G403/703 user until I gave up. I still have a good as new G403 LIGHTSPEED.

Normal Wired Microsoft Keyboard. One thing I did splurge on was a Logitech G903 mouse. Comfortable and light, battery lasts ages and can be used wired in a pinch if it runs out.

Currently rocking a
Logitech Pro X Superlight 2 DEX and Scyrox V8
MChose MIX-87
SteelSeries Arctis 5 2019 Edition

the Artics is sadly on her last legs, even replaced the earcups recently, still weighing in my options for a new wireless headset/Headphones + Mic

I hope you got a few samples of those.
