It kept giving me the App Update error when I tried to use certain apps. Became too annoying so I went back to an older firmware. But as long as you have May security update you're basically up to date.

I went to Vodacom yesterday and literally every Vodacom branch is out of stock and they said that the G4 is discontinued. I was going to get the R299p.m contract. Any suitable replacements?

How on earth can the G4 be discontinued if the G3 is still available?

I think LG took a big loss with the G4 because of all the motherboard replacements.

I think the P9 is going for the same price. could be wrong.

The G4 Deal was ridiculous though. Got one for me and one for the missus

I think Vodacom is talking crap, I don't see any discontinuation notice from LG about the G4

Perhaps try a different store. Maybe that one just didn't get stock or ran out.

In my experience, most of the people working at cellphone stores don't know much about phones and just try to wing it with answers to questions.

i can attest to this. they will also tell you such nonsense in order to sell you samsung or apple or whatever they'll get more sales commission on.

Wow got a whatsapp on my G4. Opened it and it froze for like 20 seconds then restarted and now it's stuck in a bootloop can't get past the LG logo no matter what I try. Can't even go into recovery....

sigh :mad:
