That as well. They received the phone back from the couriers on 1 July, a week later I trace the phone to the store...probably a useless store you took your phone to...
I took mine in on a Thursday morning and got a email the following day to say that I can come and collect.
Wife's phone giving issues again. Battery not lasting at all. Not sure if battery or phone...
Wife's phone. You want to give us some more info we might be able to help you detect weather its a hardware or a software issue.
1. When you say not lasting long a) does the battery drop at a very fast pace ? b) does it jump from lets say 85 to 76% and then again all of a sudden 43%.
2. What does your battery monitor say ? Any battery consuming apps? Google Services ?
3. What have you tried to so far to try and detect fix the problem
Hits around 15% to 20% battery and the phone dies.Wife's phone.
I'll ask her for more details.
I have Samsung s7 edgeif you also have a G4, try swopping batteries?
I have Samsung s7 edge
Yea.aaah OK, difficult to say if battery or phones charging is stuffed?
Afaik the provider sends it to a LG repair centre. They come with a 2 year warranty from what I can gather. Was that under warranty with your provider or directly with LG or with a third party?
Yea.
Yea.
Lol, bugger all that work. Its a standard indication that the battery has been stuffed up. You will have to replace the battery. There are a couple of things you can try before going for a battery replacement. But in my experience it rarely has an effect on phones that the software hasnt really been tempered with.
Try booting on bootloader mode and clear the devices cache memory. That procedure also cleans the battery's cache resetting it as well. After you are done with that try and discharge the phone as much as possible. Even when a phone shuts down it still keeps some battery in backup. Try and boot the phone until it no longer tries to boot. Then leave it for a couple more hours to deplete the backup battery as well. Fully charge and see if it had any effect. If not then I am afraid your only option is to replace the battery. 9/10 times when the battery starts wrong indicating shuts down when its not supposed too and then boots up with a wrong indication again, then the battery is damaged and needs to be replaced as it no longer holds the right memory.
Hope it helps. Let us know![]()

Good reasonable place to get her an original replacement?
Eish hardies bru. Just use LG Up and select refurbish ans it'll wipe everything. Back up your important stuff first tho...Ja, I have to sort my issue out now rather than later. I was overseas and had to do some data roaming for a short while before I got a local sim card for where I was. I restricted data usage on a per app basis within Android. Even though I later removed the data restriction on the same list of apps, they don't eff'ing connect on their own while on data, only if I open them to check/refresh or if I'm on wifi. So apps like Whatsapp, my email app etc just aren't giving notifications until I'm in wifi or I manually check them. Uninstalling and reinstalling effected apps with fresh settings hasn't helped. It's obviously a problem with an Android setting not being checked/unchecked internally, but I'm done with trying to figure it out. I'm starting fresh again and will never ever fk with data restriction settings again!
