As cool as this phone is. I hate it. 2hr onscreen time, 50% brightness, no location, WiFi only and down to 40%

/snip

that's very weird, when I had mine the battery really lasted well. when last have you done a factory reset?

if I do not play pokemon go I get 3 to 4 hours of screen on time.
my battery can last 12 to 16 hours if I dont use my phone.

but ticket to ride, pokemon go and the GBA emulator i use to play pokemon fire red means I get on average about 4 hours out of a full charge.

profile, try installing a better batery monitor app and see what is draining your battery, you might need to update google play services...

nah, LG batteries do not explode...

and I am pretty sure this is a software related issue rather than a hardware related one.

Hahaha, aight. Guess I'll try that tonight.

the battery apps don't give you anything extra you will see on that screen. and honestly, if the screen is your major user, there is probably nothing else eating up your battery.

don't waste your time. do a reset. if it still sucks, get a s7edge
If the phone is running fine apart from battery useage how does a reset help?

A fair amount of work setting everything up again after a reset.

it's just one of those things about android. but as I'm typing this, and looking at his usage, I don't think a reset is going to help. Since it's the screen that's eating up the power, and nothing else. If it was maybe something like "Android OS" or something..... but I'll reconsider my suggestion.

I remember a time when your battery life was fantastic before you started to flash some newer version

Several people in this thread reported earlier in the year that battery life sucked after updating to the latest Android version for the G4. Was the reason I never updated.

I was probably the first to update, and I never had any problems

I had problems in the beginning and found it was google play services.

ANd Faan I do agree the screen is the major drain, but I would still dig deeper, it could be something as simple as the OS turning the screen black instead of stopping power to the LCD draining the battery more.

after my bootloop, I've now got a 609 serial number - I did a restore from a backup that was about two months old to get phone up and running again - my battery life has definitely improved from what it was before the bootloop and the CPU does not go crazy without reason any more

I see the same wiht my phone since I got it back compared to the Wife's phone.

I can play pokemon go for about 2 hours where she can only get about an hour and a half.
this is us at the same place walking around in the same way.
her GPS drifts more, screen gets hotter and all those fun little things.
when her phone gets down to 15% I am usually on about 20%.

neither of us play while charging anymore, its too risky, phone gets too hot.
we just kill the app, plug it into the powerbanks and chill for 45 min. then play more.

so the older motherboards could possibly be part of the battery drain...

Got my G4 back. Serial number 610. I somehow hoped that a mainboard replacement would mean that my memory would still be intact with all my apps, numbers and *cough* downloaded mp3s and movies. But alas. Its all blank. :/
