OK, looks like it's my turn now... boot loop time

I did some app updates this afternoon and suddenly the phone just hung - tried restarting with ON/OFF switch, to no avail - pulled the battery and tried to switch ON, seem sto start up but screen just goes blank after LG logo and nothing more happens...


Is this the typical boot loop?
Where in/near Pretoria can I take it? (bought from Takealot)

Yes that is bootloop, welcome to the club. The closest Smartlab is in Sandton.

DAMN! but, then again rather now, while I still have warranty left....

Just started up my old S3 and she's running very smooth - glad I still have her

Not so sure of future LG purchases though..... at the rate these boot loops are coming through, they should have done a recall

Yeah, I'm gatvol of LG. Handed my phone in on Saturday for bootloop, got an SMS at 16:30 TODAY saying spares would only arrive on 19th!
Never again.

I took mine here: http://www.letstrademobile.com they are in Montana. They wanted proof of purchase though so maybe contact them before hand.

After getting the above news on time frame for my phone, I considered sending it to Charles at Let's Trade Mobile instead, but he confirmed with me this morning that there is no stock of motherboards in the country and they are expected to arrive late next week.

I got my phone back from mtn Allendale last week sat.

but I smell a bootloop for the Fiance's coming.

her wifi randomly disconnects. both of us are next to each other on good signal strength wifi. both of us are updating apps.
her wifi disconnects.

we noticed this because she got an sms saying her databundle was depleeted. 200MB of app updates that was supposed to happen over wifi....

Got mine back. 610 serial. 20d loaded by default. Giving it to my Dad, he's still using his old S4.

mine started by the CPU running wildly without reason and battery level dropping insanely without phone being used - still worked OK when I needed it - then, after installing some updates it just froze and could not restart

My G4 which I bought from Takealot in February just boot-looped this afternoon. Tried to do a hard reset, it goes into the menu option but when I tap "Yes" for hard reset it just hangs.

What is Takealot's warranty on these things? Do they honor the local warranty?

I bought mine from Takealot as well and have handed in to LG (via somebody that works there) - it has a two year warranty through LG SA as it's not a grey product
