Many reasons why Smartlab may no longer be an option for LG repairs, that's why I asked, anyone know why?
 
mtn wants R3400 to have it fixed !

Because the lens is missing at the back, they said warranty is void lol. Lense has nothing to do with the motherboard problem.

Logged request so they can call me back.

Worse case is, I will have lens repaired locally and then book it in at other agents which offered to have it repaired if get the contract papers, which I can get .

Forgot to say lens is there, just glass bit on top of the lens is missing. This fell out.

Sly bastards, I've had something similar before, Fsks the minor lens damage on the camera has zip to do with the motherboard(and even more considering the G4s widespread issue). The camera is a separate module to the mbb, you can unplug it and the phone will still work fine, if you were claiming for the camera damage that would be different but you obviously are not.

Make a big noise, talk logic, ie camera module has *** all to do with the mbb, does the camera still function, albeit with blurry or fuzzy image?
 
Did not manage to get sorted at mtn :(

I am now trying find the part locally for the glass/buttons at the back so that I can fix it and send it the repair center.

I have in mean time ordered the part from ebay for R40.

Won't it now be flagged on the system as out of warranty due to damage?

Have you tried contacting LG directly?

Yes it is flagged on the MTN system.

MTN told me they want charge me, because they do not get parts for free. As they not LG repair center.

Contacted LG, I need to take it to TT3 digital which is the repair agents for LG.

He told me I need repair glass/buttons first otherwise, he won't be able to do for free.
 
Try contacting Tirisano in Edenvale/Bedford view area. I remember when I cracked my Huawei P7 back cover they replaced it for 100 bucks while I waited there.
