LG G4

I have the 20b flashed on my device, and its not any better or worse than the latest LP version. No idea why people have issues. Did you try to factory reset after flashing 20b and start a fresh?

Would you say method of flashing may effect performance. That was the first thing I tried and then did a hard reset when there was no improvement.

Not really no, but it is a well documented fact that dirty flashing can sometimes cause unwanted side effects.

When I flash anything I normally do dirty first, and if the effect is not as desired, I factory reset before I reflash an older version

When I went from v10h to 20b I first did a upgrade. When the results were not satisfactory I tried resetting through the settings menu. Still the same performance so I did a hard reset and lastly I reflashed and selcted the refurbish option and still did a factory reset

When I went from 10h to 20b I just upgraded and it worked flawlessly from day 1

Shows you the inconsistencies

On 20b, what was your big battery drainers? Anything different than that on 10h?

Android OS (logd), Android System and Google Play Services. Android OS (logd) kept device awake for 8hrs 48min.

I, currently on my Z5, that is my biggest user:

Android OS: Keep awake 8h32m0s and I'm currently sitting at 35%
Screen on time 1h40m37s

So far the battery life on this thing isn't great... I wonder if I should do a reset and retry like I suggested to Gamer :(

Just went back to stock LP and wow all my wifi issues and intermittent lag is now something of the past. Leason learnt...wait for official software.

+1 on this. It seemed that LG rushed out the software because problems are worldwide (check reddit/xda). In any case, there is no major changes that MM had brought that want me to change.

I have a suspicion that my network many have a play in my bad battery life when I got the device on the Mtn contract I got 30gb of data. While using the Mtn SIM in the phone on LTE I was getting around 4 hrs of SOT, but now back to using my Telkom SIM on HSPA I get 3hrs. I find this strange.

well, on TM, did you turn off LTE? because that little switch can save a lot of battery time. I usually keep it on one setting only never auto detect, as then the phone is always looking for connection on every frequency.

Change it to 3g only and you will see a big difference. and when on MTN change it to LTE only, but then you will drop calls all the time.
that is why I just use 3G, its fast enough for my browsing needs...

I did switch, because I know the g4 doesn't pick up 2300mhz that TM uses

that is quite strange. must be because your TM sim is jumping between TM and MTN towers in your area all the time (because TM roams on MTN)

if you are willing to test, drop signal down to just edge for a day and see how the battery performs.

Not my issue here. I have full strenth all the time with Telkom. And even on wifi it was chowing battery, but strangely enough just at work, where the signal is better than at home. Could be LTE related like Baxteen says, but I don't give up that easily.

So last night I did a factory reset, took me about 1h20 to get everything back. Today, same issue... so I checked the running apps, and there were some apps running in the background that I don't use and which I don't think should be active in the background. So uninstalled a couple, and recharged the phone.

Been of charge for about an hour now, and still on 100%... feels like I'm back on my G4 :D because this has not happened until now.

So will report back later how the rest of day goes.

PS: I know this is not G4 related, but I think every smartphone user today wants better battery life.

PSS: If you guys want me to leave the G4 thread, just say so. I politely tell you to piss off :D :D :D
