I tried LG bridge yesterday, how much user data/settings does it restore with 3rd party apps?
Can you do a full phone backup incl the int/ext sd card media and wipe the phone, restore and carry on like nothing happened?
It restores no data/settings from apps! It purely reinstalls all the apps (it allows you to choose which ones if you want). It did not apply any personal settings (phone setup stuff) as I moved from MM to LP.
I had backed up my Nova settings, so at least my home pages, widgets, app drawer, icons, wallpapers were all done. Apps I customise again as and when I use them the first time, in other words, I don't try setup all my apps immediately after reinstalling. Email (Cloudmagic is easy, login to my CM account, it reinstalls all email accounts etc), Tapatalk (login to Tapatalk account) and Whatsapp are the immediates. It also took care of my call logs and text messages, so that saved me from using a 3rd party app to do that.
It will do a full backup of both int/ext cards, but I chose to rather move all my critical stuff from int to ext, removed my ext, put it into my PC, dumped all data on PC. Once my restore was complete, I installed ext back to phone, formatted in phone, connected USB, pushed all my stuff (music/pics etc) back on to ext over USB. I've had too many errors in the past moving ext card between phone and PC without letting the phone format it the way it likes. I've started fresh now, it's quite nice. Will wait for official MM, not much changes.
