LG G4

You will have to compare the G4 with the S6. Not the Edge variant. But yes, still a bit of a price difference.
For me it comes down to the small price difference plus the SD card capabilities of the G4. I cannot do with only 32GB on a phone as I use my phone as my torrent device. And the lure of a bigger screen is also tempting me away from my current S4 to the G4.
Bigger screen alone would be enough for me, you do lose a fair amount from the soft keys but apparently you can configure the phone to hide the soft keys and use swipe gestures in place of the soft keys.

My new toy has just arrived this morning. At work so I don't have much time to play with it now. :(

I took the black leather option.

It comes with earphones, charger and a spare plastic cover (metallic grey)

I had to install the battery. Free 32GB SD card already installed. :)

I couldn't manage to send my google account info from my Samsung S4 to this phone while setting up. It uses NFC. The tune plays, but nothing happens. So I skipped it. But now I want to install all my old apps and transfer all my info from my S4. Any suggestions on how I should proceed? (too lazy to Google :o )

My G4 just crash, iOS style, a few minutes ago. I hope it doesn't become a recurring theme.

As soon as you setup your Google Account on your G4 then it should automatically install all your apps and transfer your contacts exactly like it was on your S4.

I didn't have to do anything. Even my ringtones etc... was transferred.

what gave you that idea? my normal upgrade date was the 14th, but I managed to get a little earlier via the call centre.

My bad. I think it is this
My next upgrade is the 14th of July... so let's see

When I read this it seemed much further than it is. Clearly got it wrong.

Anyone here move from a Samsung S6 (S6 edge) to the LG G4 ? I'm having to get a second device and so have narrowed the choices down to these two . I would be interested to hear a real comparison between these two . I have read a lot of reviews , but it's always good to hear some real comparisons from someone who does not review phones etc for a living .

My personal opinion is that only if you hold the two phones next to each other and you do some real life tests, then you'll might see very slight differences. And I think that both devices will have certain things that's slightly better than the other. But if you choose any one of these two devices without comparing it side by side, you will have a awesome device.

I prefered the G4 because of the following:

Bigger Screen
No software issues (in my experience)
Excellent Camera with DSLR-like manual settings
Style
AND not all those bloatware. (I'm not going to root)

I also think it was a wise choice to get away from Samsung for a change.

Thanks , I am interested in hearing your thoughts on both . Iv had the S5 and the LG G3 in the past . I went into some stores this morning , managed to handle the S6 (regular and edge) but after going to 2 different malls none of the stores had a demo until of the LG G4 available .

I'll see if I can do a proper "G4 vs S6" review thread :)

Let me know if anyone has anything specific you want me to compare.

Have you had any of the touch screen issues that some have been reporting ? Does the leather back feel comfortable in hand ?

hehe no problem. let a fanboi have his day ;) don't keep all the G4 goodness to yourself...!
I hope you got yourself the extra battery.
I always have mine in my bag, fully charged of course. uploadfromtaptalk1435835892970.jpg
