LG G4

Then the TomTom is the way to go.

Hmm all Takealot has is this

Not expensive at all though so maybe not the right one?

Also saw this which looks like a nice combination but leaves the problem of the USB cable.

And I saw a 3.4 amp charger for the new Samsungs...is that too much (cuz that comes with the cable so it would eliminate that question)?

That is a different TomTom, the one that I was talking about is fancier. But that may be OK.

The Samsung one should work well, does not matter if it has a higher current rating, the phone will take what it needs.

I have noticed really cheap USB cables can't supply the max avail current like the 2A chargers but any decent branded cable esp the ones that come with phones normally work fine. Just check if the dog cat hasn't had a chew, my cat likes chewing cables, got hold of my headphone cable a while back :(

Powerbanks aren't so great for keeping the phone alive whilst using it to navigate. My sister is in medicine and she has to do home visits and such so she needs her phone to point the way and needs to keep it alive whilst doing so.

Anyways she's decided to try my extra cables first and then we'll see what we buy. One of the cables should definitely be up to the task though, perhaps not the one from the Sony Ericsson Xperia neo one but the one from my Samsung S4 Mini, or Logitech G700S mouse or the new Energiser cable I'd gotten for my controller should be up to the task. No clue what cable she's using now.

Car chargers anyone?

I thought these things were universal but it seems the one my sister bought when she had her previous Galaxy S3 only manages to charge the G4 about a percent or two during a hour long drive.

It seems however that LG don't make their own car chargers so I don't know where to begin.
So anyone perhaps have a Takealot link for one that works? Or at least a name I can try and find?
I hunted around for a while for a decent charger as the 2A one that I have had in the car for a while was not cutting it anymore.
By chance, I saw one at Makro a few months back. Powerful thing with 2 ports. Grabbed one to try and it works like a bomb. Went back and purchased another 2

Cant remember the name or spec. Will check in the AM and post details here.

Thanks. Much appreciated.

Had a look at my sister's car charger and it says output is up to 2000mAh and the cable is the official cable it came with so it should be up to task as well. So I guess that means the G4 wants even more than a 2 Amp charger? Guess we'll have to get something new after all.

The wall charger that came with the G4 is 1800mAh.

2000mAh should be more than enough. If it doesn't work, then it's rated incorrectly.

How do I get my phone to keep silent at night? I've just been putting it on flight mode but surely there's an easier way?
