LG G4

The only fix that I know of requires an unlocked bootloader and root to edit the file it self. As far as I know H815p can't be unlocked yet.

Anyone else know of a fix

Not too bad I think.

So I have been noticing some strange behaviour since the update, apart from the LED problem.

I noticed that I am not receiving any whatsapp messages, first thought was that people think Im a loser and do not want to contact me. Open whatsapp and all the messages come through to my phone.

I also asked for a couple of emails from people, not receiving anything I open the gmail app and all of a sudden all of the emails appear.

I have reveived some whatsapp messages while the phone was locked and some not, only when going into the app does my messages come through.

that whatsapp issue is fairly common. the solution is simple.
TELEGRAM.
but if you dont want to use the better messaging app, you can also uninstall and reinstall. it does solve the problem.

the email problem sounds similar though. I would say go check the app permissions (with the update to MM now you need to give apps permissions in app once off) and make sure it is allowed to use the data connection.

but it does seem like that is actually the root of your problem, app permissions.

I installed at 5 am this morning, updated a few apps on wifi before leaving for work, and I am now on 56% this is quite a bit Lower than normal, but I think it is due to higher usage than normal today.

Yesterday my phone took just over 2 hours to fully charge from 5%. I was not happy because I'm not used to waiting so long for it to charge. So after draining it again I plugged the charger in at 13:55 and it was fully charged at 15:35. That is just over 20minutes faster than yesterday. Seems like the new firmware is settling now.

I want to see now if I can break the 4hour SOT. I might drain the battery before I go to bed tonight by doing that but I'm curious to see if MM power management is really that good. Previously with Lollipop I usually got anything from 2hours to 3hours SOT. Sometimes just a bit more.

I just went ahead and did a factory reset. Downloaded all the apps from scratch as well. Mine was definitely worse of after the update. Steady discharge when screen was off as opposed to not losing charge on lollipop.

Did it remedy the fault?

BTW Piesang's results are way better than mine on lollipop.

just saw a guy on facebook post this - doesn't concern me as I don't play games, but some here could perhaps confirm
"Looks like I found my first bug, but this bug is only replated to games. Games lag on Marshmallow.....which is something to do with the new driver apparently. Hope this gets fixed by an update. All games experience lag, no matter how undemanding the game is. Games were super smooth on Lollipop.....but other than that, everything is top notch."

So after my first full day with the official South African V20D update, here are my battery stats:

My day has basically comprised of perhaps an hour of calls, along with 2 hours of messaging over IMs, a photo or two, 15 minutes of listening to music, browsing for about another 2 hours.

To be honest it's not any better nor any worse than my Lollipop use. I have not factory reset the phone yet so that may render some better results once I get to doing that.

My signal for anyone who wants to know, has fluctuated between 4 and 5 (full) bars on 4G with MTN. I've had pretty much mixed use between WiFi and data over the day (as you can tell from the images).

Not great but not bad either overall (for the time being). Looking forward to a "fresh" use after a well deserved factory reset though.

P.S. I'm also experiencing the logd battery drain as evident in my screenshots. Hopefully a factory reset may help.
