LG G4

So my G4 also has the bootloop issue. Yay.

Serial number starts with 506.

Those that went through SMARTlab, how much did it cost?

And those that went through MTN/Vodacom, was it fixed under warranty?

So about 2 months ago I used a Samsung adaptive fast charger on my G4. Quick charge 2.0 was working great and it even said fast charging in the notification panel.

So the 4 time I used the charger I left the phone like 2 hours and when I came back it was so hot felt like the phone is going to melt and battery was stuck on 19%

I took it out and let it cool down and plugged it in again and it was charging fine. The problem now is since that happened I have never been able to get quick charge to work.

Is it possible that it could have damaged the quick charge 2.0 part of charging only? If so how the he'll am I going to explain to Cells if I want to send it in for a warranty claim if I even can send it in for that.

I have been using a Samsung quick charger on my G4 for months, works like a charm.

Got my phone back this morning, mainboard has been replaced. Will see how it performs during the next week.

Been playing around with my phone today, setting everything up again. Battery life seems to be better but that might be due to less cluttering of unused apps.

So far no other problems with the device.

So all these bootloop problems now all of a sudden pop up more than a year or so later? Whats the cause and trigger?

What is the difference between 6.0 and 6.0.1?
The main difference between Android Marshmallow 6.0 and 6.0.1 is that Android Marshmallow 6.0.1 comes with updates like 200 new emojis, a new way to launch the camera, a convenient way to use the Tablet with a modified user interface, reinstatement of the ‘do not disturb’ mode and other security features. Although these updates may not seem to be a big deal, they do enhance the user experience and Android Marshmallow os to compete with its rivals more effectively.

I've got 6.0 on my G4 and 6.0.1 on my Note 5. I must say, it's not that huge of a difference. Definately overrated.

This is hard for me after having the latest and greatest on my Note 3 all the time. Man do I miss custom roms.

LG hasnt been as fast as samsung lately

I only miss root cos of adblocking and Automate.

But i'm going to put up with it till LG stops all support.

LG is trying to speed up with security patches http://www.gsmarena.com/following_g...ches_its_own_security_bulletin-news-18764.php

So they are getting there.

Vodacom is the other barrier... they just take forever to get updates out.

Not using OTA updates. When I see new firmware on XDA I use LG Up and manually update.
