LG G4

I manage to fix G4 with this software fix.

It disables the 2 fast cores, but at-least the phone works now :)

I'd also like to know how badly has performance been affected?
Mine got stuck in bootloop a couple of days ago. Bought my phone cash from a mate, so no warranty or insurance. Also, don't want to spend money repairing it. If I could get it to boot, so I can save my data and if it could work for a short while longer, I'd be happy.

I only played with it yesterday. It took me extremely long to flash lollipop and root it etc. Performance is fine I still get 50k on antunu .

What they forgot to mention in the video is that, the creator want's 25USD for the g4 core fix app before the fix applies on the phone, so I found a free version on xda.

Worth a try I guess. Will give it a go on the weekend.

When I run the LGUP program, it gives me a msg "There is no handset connected". Did you experience this at all?

So, I finally managed to complete the process. My phone is now horribly slow. Just glad I was able to get it on to backup the data.

Sigh. My brothers phone just went into bootloop. Typing on whatsapp and it froze. Now it can't get past the boot logo. It's on contract from Cell C in Cape Town? I guess I should just take it to them? Sn starts with 510 which is weird.
Got the phone January 2016.
Will there be any charge?

Won't be any charge if its under warranty and doesn't have physical or water damage.

My wife and sister in law's phones both went into bootloop within a week of each other. Luckily still under warranty with Vodacom.

Sigh. Cell C said 24 working days for the repair
Told me the same, and they were right, I waited about 3 weeks.

Vodacom fixed my note 3 in one day, new screen and motherboard. I've always had good repair turnaround times from Vodacom, they seem to have workshops at many of the stores whereas Cell C sends any serious repairs to a centralized location, still 3 weeks is bs, should be no longer than 1 week.

Guys, is there anyone apart from Smartlab (who, I believe have shut down or moved) that does warranty repairs in Cape Town?
Wefix only do Apple & Samsung. TT3 have also closed down in Cape Town - they also do warranty repairs, but want R150 to courier to somewhere else.
I have the Virgin Mobile purchase papers, but phone was bought on Gumtree from contract owner, so I am wary of approaching Virgin Mobile direct.

I've had 2hnd contract phones(purchased from someone else) repaired under warranty, with Vodacom.

Generally all they are worried about is that the phone has warranty, if they start asking for paperwork just ask what you need to bring and say you'll come back with the necessary, then maybe re-evaluate the situation at that point.

I very much doubt the warranty validation system shows who the original owner was, just that it's within warranty or not. Any case although you aren't supposed to sell devices linked to contracts I don't think the network's really care, they will blacklist it if the contract goes into default but that's about as far as their interest in the device itself goes.

Thanks for replying. The warranty papers are in the box, and the motherboard was replaced by Smartlab about 2 months ago (boot loop), so their papers are inside the box as well.
Okay then. Time to visit Virgin Mobile.

24 working days is 5 weeks for me
