hey! got my 5x a few months back and forgot to join this thread, what a an awesome phone
Using it as my dev phone atm, as i do some android dev work, and have a sonyz3c as my main phone.
might actually decide to transition to the 5x as my main phone.

Also, the dev preview trick works, got 7 the day it was released :D i like the changes, haven't used it enought to comment further though.

Good stuff. I used the beta signup trick the other day to get Nougat but I see there was a smaller update waiting for me this morning as well. Now the build number reads: NRD90R

I do not know about you guys but I have found the back cover on my phone is taking a bit of a beating. Dust particles that are caught between the back cover and the case I am using are eating into the rubber like material that coats the back cover.

Mine says NRD90M, and no updates waiting.

Mine says the same. What tricks do you guys know with the update? If you double tap the recent button it switches to your previously used app. That's quite useful. Multitasking is great now.

From what I have read NRD90M is Nougat's first release and NRD90R is the September security update. There is also a NRD90S but that includes an additional fix for Japan.

My USB-C charger that came with the 5X stopped working. Anyone know where I can get a replacement charger that I don't have to import?

Why not get 'n USB type C cable that works with a normal charger?
I bought 3 of these back when I got my phone.

I do use a generic charger with a A to C cable but it chargers so slowly compared to a type-c charger

Look at the wattage of the charger- a generic 15W charger that works with your cable might be cheaper.
Or, if you have a pc with USB 3.0 / 3.1, use that- charges as fast, if not faster, than the oem charger.

Yes I have found the chargers used for tablets are best suited for fast charging.

Anybody having issues with battery life since the last update? I used to get 2 days on a full charge. Now I just get a day. I have wiped the cache and reset the app preferences. That didn't help. All the usual is off i.e Bluetooth and NFC. NDB90W is the current build I have.

I'm also on NDB90W, but my battery life seems the same as always. But then, I rarely see a full day anyway- bit of a heavy user with Pokémon Go/Whatsapp/Telegram/Facebook being the main culprits.

I have been experiencing the same. Fully charged in the morning before I head to work and by the time I go to bed in the evening it is on like 20% or less. I use to also get around two days worth of battery life. If I may ask which network provider you are using?

I am with mtn. I have tried just having the WiFi on only. No difference. Doing some googling about it and it seems it's a problem with the latest update. Hopefully Google bring an update out.

This morning there was a 1260MB (I think) Android Beta Program update waiting- I'm installing it now. No real mention of any battery fixes, although I suppose there should be a changelog somewhere detailing what's changed.

Will update with build number once I'm done.

Edit:
Android version 7.1.1
patch level 5 Oct 2016
Build number NPF10C

Will be interesting to see if that fixes the battery issue.

Any idea how that happened?
Are you part of the beta program?

Good luck and let us know.
