Sweet! Thanks.

@jnvdlh06, bought mine on credit card, knowing I'd get my year end performance bonus. Don't think Orange does monthly payments.

Yes. I have asked them about it before. It sucks that they dont. I am really keen on getting a Nexus. But my wife will moer me if I pay that kind of money once off for a cellphone... lol

It's a fat wad of cash once off, to be sure, but then I'm also pretty sure it's cheaper than paying monthly instalments (I imagine said instalments would have interest as well).

And also, it's worth it, 100% :D

Haha ja, I think its only a "mental hurdle". I dont like to spend money and I reaaaally dont like it to pay that much once off! Haha paying monthly eases you into things.

You see, for me it's the other way around. I'd rather pay it once in cash, instead of being in debt. Just wish I could buy everything cash :(

Yes Im not a big fan of debt either, but sometimes you have to have it to buy something unfortunately.

Think I am just used to paying off a phone monthly because of contracts etc

Great phone! Using Android N with Custom Kernel, the battery life is amazing. Doze 2 is really nice piece of software engineering from google.

I see that the 16gb version is now going for just over R4k on Orange. That's stupid cheap for a phone like this - I think that will sway me over the edge...

My 2cents, if you intend having several apps installed and take pics etc then dont go for 16gb.

I have a 16gb Tab (not nexus), and the space gets used up super fast. Without expandable storage you might struggle. Its not a lot more expensive for the 32gb version.

To give you a more realistic example, I have a 32gb Nexus 5, and for almost 2.5 years usage, I have not yet had to clear out photos, and I still have about 5 gb free space.

On my 16gb Tab - I have no photos on the device any longer and still have no space for any new apps.

I know that's good advice, but I'm pretty price sensitive at the moment and R900 is enough to make me reconsider. I had the 16gb Nexus 5 for two years and have been using a 16gb Motorola for the last 6 months and have coped fine. Looking to the future might be a different thing, I'll admit, but for now it should be okay. Very curious to see what storage the Nexus phone(s) come out with this year!

Apps just keep on growing with updates. In a years time you never know.

But if R900 is stretching you, then you know what you can afford and live with. Enjoy the phone dude. I need to get one soon.

The 32gb Carbon Black version has been sold out for quite some time now on Orange, anywhere else one can buy this at a similarly competitive price?

I ordered the 16GB one from Orange, which was supposedly in stock. Now the ETA was changed to 18 days. So I wait patiently.

I love my Nexus
I see that security patches is now a monthly thing.
Yes, although May hasn't arrived for me yet.

Had mine about a week now and I'm really enjoying it too. So nice to be back on the stock Android/fast update track!

So, has anyone signed up for the Android Beta Program?
Android N (7.0) is in Developer Preview 3 and it seems we can update to the beta version- for testing purposes, or something.

I'm very tempted, but not so sure on stability. Known Issues. Any reason not to try this?

I ran preview 2 for a few weeks without any issues. But then FNB Connect enabled LTE on their network and it seemed like the switch from 3G to LTE in preview 2, on my phone anyway, had some issues. The switch would happen but I would loose internet connectivity even though it showed I had been assigned an IP address. Rolled back to Marshmallow and all is fine again. Think I will sign up for the beta program again today and try preview 3.
