LG Nexus 5X

Word of warning. Never change the radio band mode via the service menu on the Nexus 5X. You will not be able to change it back without going to hell and back. I learned the hard way while try to fix something else.

Thanks for the tip.

I'm curious as to what led you down this path?

I am having some issues with my data connection when using a Vodacom SIM. Read an article to confirm certain settings are correct via the service menu and curiosity got the best of me.

I'm just gonna jump in here. I'm contemplating getting either the 5X or 6P from Orange. I think I like the 6P better, but the price is making it a hard call. I always thought 32GB minimum, or even 64GB in the case of the 6P.

But now this:

Google Nexus 5X (Black, 32GB): R9065
Google Nexus 5X (Black, 16GB): R5680

Thats a R3385 (37%) difference.

The wish the price for the 32GB 6P will drop like this. Best deal for the 6P (64GB) is currently R11340.

Check carbonite - 64gb 6P going for RK9

Don't know to be honest, would probably regret it afterwards. One of the best phones I've ever owned.

Then you should keep it. It makes little financial sense to sell a brand new phone for no good reason if it is one of the best phones you've owned.

thinking of getting the 5x , looking at 16gb black from orange , anyone seen it cheaper elsewhere ?

cant validate the price jump from 16gb - 32gb on orange

Wooohooo. Looking forward to that update.

I side-loaded the OTA yesterday and so far so good. I also saw there is a preview version of Android N out for the Nexus devices.

I have not seen the 16GB cheaper anywhere else. Orange is already R2000 cheaper than what I paid for mine some time ago.

Just received an OTA update this morning,

Android version: 6.0.1
Security patch level: 1 March 2016
Build number MHC19J

Is this the latest one? Just wondering how far behind I am, relying on OTA instead of manual updates.

How did you pay for your Nexus 5X? R6-8k is a lot to pay at once. Is there a way to make down payments?

That is the latest build available. So you are up to date. ;)
