LG Nexus 5X

Does anybody have any tweaks or special apps they use?

I found the system ui tuner page. That's quite useful.

There are tweaking posts on the XDA forums for the Nexus 5X and one is pretty complicated. I use my mine pretty much as is. Not seen any major slowness.

Thanks. I'll try find them. So far I'm happy. Definitely faster than my S3. I'm just second guessing myself whether I should of gone for the 6P or not.

There's a nice 'speed' tweak I found online. Basically enable the developer options and look for transition options, the default value is 1.0. Setting it to 0.5 makes the OS seem quite snappy as it cuts down on animation duration.

Tried it, while the animations are faster, personally I don't feel the gain is worth the effort, 1x is fine for me, I like it like that, but thanks for the tip.

I've noticed something odd on my 5X.
When the phone is on charge (not the charger that came with it, it's on a 2.1A usb port that is hooked up to the power grid) the touch screen sensitivity goes to shyte, and you have to work with it as if it's a resistive screen. Take it off charge and it's fine again.

Something is dodge with the cable or power supply...

I was also torn between the two new ones but for R2k extra I liked the benefits of the 6P esp the camera functions. Not to mention size as I was used to a N6.

Probably a crappy charger. What make is it?

I have noticed it as well. I have tried 2 different chargers. It seems if I charge my phone without the cover I don't have the problem. Maybe because I'm earthing it ???

Use a proper charger.

Download an app called Ampere and it will tell you what's going on

No idea. Each desk has one of those. Far as I know, those are "red sockets" (see left side)- the critical ones which are connected to UPS' and stuff that Vodacom uses for all the important stuff like supplying power to developer's workstations etc.

Ok... So what am I looking for, when using this Ampere app, to determine what's what with the chargers?

Ampere will only show amps, not dirty power which is screwing with your digitiser. It's the crappy charger, throw it out.

I played a little with my phone last night while it was on the oem charger- same thing happened, just to a much lesser extent, but the touch screen was also less sensitive and responsive than usual- it's just not as extreme as the multiplug at work.

I'm sure I read somewhere that some digitizers go funny when on charge. Not sure when or the reason behind it though

I have experienced this when using my Samsung tablet's charger on my HTC phone.
