What do you guys make of LG sets these days? Seems like they have some decent products at good prices. What is their warranty like?

So nobody on this big mighty forum knows squat about LG TV's? Interesting.

My E7 65" is great. I highly recommend it (or it's cheaper cousins in the B and C series).

Only had my B6 65" for a couple of weeks so still a bit early to comment on support/reliability but the set itself is amazing. WebOS is actually really good, a lot better and faster than I was expecting. I use the Youtube and Netflix apps over the app on my Shield TV now as they're arguable more responsive and support HDR and Atmos (on Netflix) playback.

2 year warranty is too short imo though, should be at least 3 years.

When i was doing research on TV's i was previously going to go for the LG sj850, they say the picture quality is really good, the only thing is that the blacks often turn light due to light bleed, its quite a common trend, not that bad in sunlight, but if you watch in the dark it will definitely be noticeable. Some people can deal with, some can't and unfortunately, the amount of lightbleed is just down to luck of the draw , im sure if the 850 has this, the 630 will have.

After all my research though the brands that i fell to were Sony and LG, they seemed to have the most consistent positive reviews across the board.

Sony's are very pricey though.

Samsung MU range is hit and miss, the 2016 KS7000 is a really really really good TV you could buy if you can find old stock but i highly doubt you will.

My LG TV is great. have the older range 65UF950T. amazing picture, has 2 year warranty.

The problem with LG is that they dont like to update the software to the latest version. example i have webos 2 but webos 3.5 is out. what they have done is bring some features of webos 3.5 to webos 2 in a small update..

Samsung Tizen tv's can install android apps, so it worth checking out as well but there is major price difference between samsung and LG with samsung being more expensive.

You need to install ACL from tizen store to run android apps but not all apps will work

WebOS 3.5 is not coming to Previous versions of WebOS.

Yes exactly which is really stupid cos the hardware that runs my TV and the newer 2017 OLED models are almost identical.. Same CPU but upgraded memory module. So Webos 3.5 will definetly run on 2015, 2016 model tv's
