Happens to me sometimes, but rarely. Not just apps, but any audio source (HDMI incl.) using ARC. Except with me it's not just the centre channel, all sound seems to go only to the left channel.

A quick restart of the set usually sorts it out. I think there's an issue on WebOS with the HDMI handshake "de-syncing", and a restart forces the handshake process to start from scratch. Not really sure though...

The thing is restarting didn't help, I restarted several times. I probably should have completely powered it off - if it happens again I'll try that.

With the poor black levels I invested a whopping R100 into a USB powered 50cm in length 6500k white led strip

bias lighting they call it. And in a dark room my viewing experience has been greatly enhanced. Black levels are now allot closer to black... The tv now is pretty much awesome. Don't know why manufacturers don't have led strips by default installed on the back of their TVs ... And give the option to the user to enbale bias lighting or not.

Also the added back light adds some nice pizazz to the room

Where did you position the led strip, centre, closer to the top or bottom? Could you post a photo?

Is that enough light to spread the glow evenly around the TV?

There is enough glow around the tv. In hindsight though it should be a little longer than the 50cm I got for a 49" tv. I do get the light coming all around the tv. If I lower the led more to the center I reckon it will be an even hue around the tv set

The science behind it is this picture

That center bar is the same colour throughout but because of the lighting around it your eyes are hoodwinked into thinking its darker on one end. Same way this lighting works ...
