Lightspeed in Swellendam?

Hi everyone,
I'm curious to know if anyone has the cybersmart lightspeed fibre connected to their home in Swellendam. I heard a rumour that some folks had been connected near me. The fibre trunking runs by my front gate but I'm unsure if there has been any fibre actually installed. My understanding is it was originally installed for an accounting company around the corner to me and for our local farmers co-operative. My next door neighbour had the home part of the installation done over a year ago and is still not connected. I'm beginning to wonder what the lead time is for an installation. I drove around to see if I could see any more signs of installation but apart from quite a few fibre junction boxes like my neighbour no real sign that any installations have been completed. If anyone has any information I would be grateful (I expect my neighbour would like to know too)

Just a small update. Cybersmart have applied for wayleaves for digging trenches in Buitekant street, Steil street and Veldkornet. Presumably these applications are with the municipality. If I hear any more I'll post here.

Good day everyone,
Not much to report. Contacted Cybersmart again and I was told they had nothing from their wayleave applications. I feel like going to the municipality and asking but I suspect they will know nothing about wayleave applications from Cybersmart Lightspeed. This delaying tactic is probably quite common. Push the blame for lack of action onto someone else. So I'm going to apologise for getting anyones hopes up . I feel sorry for the front line staff who have been very polite but they must know what is going on and have probably been told they are not allowed to tell the truth.

Herotel will start laying FTTH from June and should be finished by the end of August. This I got from Breedenet today

The Fibre will be live in +- 3 Months time.
Install Cost R2250.00 Once off. Not sure if we are going to run promotion. Its still to early in the project.
