Hi,

My line currently has the following SNR and Attenuation on a 512 link:

Downstream Upstream
SNR Margin 23.0 dB 27.5 dB
Line Attenuation 29.5 dB 14.5 dB

From what I've seen in other posts, this seems pretty good. May I assume that going up to 4meg or even 10 would be possible, or would those figures change?

Thx

Those stats are good enuf for 10 meg.

is it the lower the better? or higher the better?

this is mine:

Connection Status Connected
Us Rate (Kbps) 512
Ds Rate (Kbps) 4096
US Margin 14
DS Margin 11
Trained Modulation GDMT
LOS Errors 0
DS Line Attenuation 44
US Line Attenuation 26

is that also gud enough for 10mbs?

High SNR = Good
Low Attn = Good

Generally your SNR will drop 4 points for every mbit your line speed increases, once you hit 6 SNR your line will start to lose sync and become unstable. Also, you're Attn is pretty high which means you're quite far from the exchange.

If I were to venture a guess I'd say even 8mbit is a bit of a stretch. :(
