line upgrades

I cancelled my Neotel account and now after ordering my mweb uncapped adsl they tell me my area only supports 384kbs and I really need the 4mb line is there any way to get them to upgrade my line or am I going to have to suffer it out?

I have read that guys are getting shaped to 10kbs when downloading from rapidshare or torrents on the 384kbs line is this true?

I refuse to go back to Neotel.

As far as I know, if your exchange only supports up to 384k then you're pretty much stuck with it until they upgrade the actual exchange. My area supports up to 4096k but I'm on a 384k line. I seem to get a constant 30-35kbps on my torrents so it's ok. Browsing the web is fairly fast as well - need to pause the torrents while doing so though. I'm a soon to be ex Neotel Prime client but they're apparently going to be migrating us Prime folk to WiMax so I'd like to try that out before cancelling.

In that case sign up for their unshaped service but it's gonna cost more.
