Media loves to sensationalize. The "He committed suicide because of Chris Cornell" makes for a good dramatic headline. The only thing I will listen to is what the band members say. Everything else is garbage and hype.
Couldn't handle it as well Oprah Winfrey.RIP.
Depression, most likely? Seems he had a really tough childhood.

Why would he sign the letter like that? Or has someone since digitized his handwriting?

RIP.
Hybrid Theory was a groundbreaking album in its day.
Lest we not forget Chester's two cameos in the Crank films
Also a victim in the last Saw film.
Another sad day for alternative music then. Had an amazing voice. Admittedly I didn't listen to them much after their first album, so not going to call myself a super fan or anything.
Sadder still is the fact that he's left 6 kids fatherless. Just how bad can things get that you don't even consider the broken lives you're going to leave behind?
Ah, always some 'depression ignorant' people in these threads .... high horse idiots
This. Unless he had no real relationship with any of his 6 kids, I cannot feel for this dude.
This is who he bailed on. Pretty much said **** you I'm outa here. Not to mention millions of fans around the world.
Who? I can't say I've ever heard of this nigga, regardless, RIP you selfish POS.
You know... I actually went to check out some interviews they've had with him after posting that. He was a really nice fella actually. This one clip, which was supposedly his last interview, you could actually hear he's losing grip.Chester was always depressed and suicidal. He had years where he could keep it at bay, and some where he'd relapse for a bit before picking himself up again. Like Robin Williams, he knew that one day he would trip and stumble for the last time before he actually ended it all.
That last downward spiral is unavoidable. You know it's going to come eventually, but you don't know when, and you don't have to stop living your life while you're waiting for it.
RIP, enjoyed Linkin Park.
