Linkin Park singer commits suicide

Media loves to sensationalize. The "He committed suicide because of Chris Cornell" makes for a good dramatic headline. The only thing I will listen to is what the band members say. Everything else is garbage and hype.

What his wife and kids say is garbage too ? (Since they’re not included).

I wonder how many times I contemplated suicide while listening to "In the end". I guess Chester finally showed us that in the end it doesn't even matter.

Just wait and see how the charts are going to be playing Linkin Park music for some time, people who never really knew their music or even liked their music , will tune in and want to listen to the music he made while living. I am for one going to spend this evening listening to all his music to pay tribute to an artist that left many fans shocked and sad ! And I am not even a fan, but respect what each artist does to bring us music to our ears.

RIP.

Hybrid Theory was a groundbreaking album in its day.

Lest we not forget Chester's two cameos in the Crank films

Another sad day for alternative music then. Had an amazing voice. Admittedly I didn't listen to them much after their first album, so not going to call myself a super fan or anything.

Sadder still is the fact that he's left 6 kids fatherless. Just how bad can things get that you don't even consider the broken lives you're going to leave behind?

This. Unless he had no real relationship with any of his 6 kids, I cannot feel for this dude.

This is who he bailed on. Pretty much said **** you I'm outa here. Not to mention millions of fans around the world.

Ah, always some 'depression ignorant' people in these threads .... high horse idiots

Just ignore them. Many don't realise what depression does to someone. RIP Chester. I'm not the biggest LP fan, love some of their songs. tHIS ONE, Given up, from Minutes to midnight says a lot...
Wake in a sweat again
Another day's been laid to waste
In my disgrace
Stuck in my head again
Feels like I'll never leave this place
There's no escape
I'm my own worst enemy

I've given up
I'm sick of feeling
Is there nothing you can say?
Take this all away
I'm suffocating!
Tell me what the **** is wrong with me!

I don't know what to take
Thought I was focused, but I'm scared
I'm not prepared
I hyperventilate
Looking for help somehow, somewhere
And no one cares
I'm my own worst enemy

I've given up
I'm sick of feeling
Is there nothing you can say?
Take this all away
I'm suffocating!
Tell me what the **** is wrong with me!

God!

Put me out of my misery
Put me out of my misery
Put me out of my...
Put me out of my ****ing misery!

I've given up
I'm sick of feeling
Is there nothing you can say?
Take this all away
I'm suffocating!
Tell me what the **** is wrong with me!

Chester was always depressed and suicidal. He had years where he could keep it at bay, and some where he'd relapse for a bit before picking himself up again. Like Robin Williams, he knew that one day he would trip and stumble for the last time before he actually ended it all.

That last downward spiral is unavoidable. You know it's going to come eventually, but you don't know when, and you don't have to stop living your life while you're waiting for it.

You know... I actually went to check out some interviews they've had with him after posting that. He was a really nice fella actually. This one clip, which was supposedly his last interview, you could actually hear he's losing grip.

Coming from being suicidal in my younger years, myself, I feel kinda kuk about my previous post now.

RIP, enjoyed Linkin Park.

Nothing stopping you from still enjoying them.

There just won’t be new stuff. Well at least not with the same lead vocalist.

Often changing the front man is greatly beneficial.
