Care to elaborate on what you find cryptic about Linux or did you just want to do some trolling?

It writes a neat log of all its actions to /tmp/.bliss and even has a --bliss-uninfect-files-please command line option that actually does what it promises.

This is far from Trolling. I mean as soon as Linux gets GUI's to make installing and configuring your system a bit easier, I might become a Linux user. But this editing of conf files is a bit too much. Talk about complicating simple things.

Depends on the distribution that you are using. In your case try SuSe.

Ever tried installing the latest OpenSuSE 11? Or Fedora 9?

GUI all the way.

And you don't need to edit .conf files, everything is done for you.

I used redhat back in the 90's as well but after trying ubuntu hardy recently on my new PC I have fully switched over to Linux as my main OS and only use Vista for games and misc things that Windows still does better but for everything else Linux works perfectly.

Anyway, I use Suse as well, no network adapter has blown up yet (touch wood).

As for the name of the article? They make it sound a lot worse then it actually is. Why? What satisfaction do they get from bad mouthing Linux?

I'm not saying other people are stupid, but if you do not want to learn it's your choice, if you do not want to read up on IT, it's your choice, if you want to pay thousands of rands for your software, do not ever complain about it since you were to lazy to take a week to learn any new open source OS...

Hey I'm not flaming any Linux fans. I'm just wondering after all this development and this big hoohah about Linux, has someone STILL not desiged a GUI interface to eliminate the need to edit stupid conf files? That woud certainly 'convert' a lot more Winlosers as you would call us I mean if you want the open source product 'market' to expand, making things a bit simpler would be the first thing. Hope this is clear. NO DISRESPECT TO LINUX USERS!!!! (I just don't feel Linux is better than Windows just because it is free??) Btw, how many of us actually paid for our copy of Windows at home (besides me )

Like all the other users already asked "When was the last time you tried a GNU/Linux distro?"

Do us all and yourself a favour goto DistroWatch. Choose one of the top 5 distros', download it, install it, play with it and come back to us and tell us what you couldn't do in a GUI.
