One app is the source of almost half of all MacOS malware

New cybersecurity research has found that almost half of the malware that infected MacOS computers in the past year came from the same app.

Elastic Security Labs' 2022 Global Threat Report delved into the prevalence and nature of malware across various desktop operating systems.

I call BS. Open source vs MacOS which is partially closed source. Clickbait to make Apple look good.

If the their percentage of market share is lower than the share of virus infections, then it's security is worse, not better.

It would help if the report indicated which versions of the Linux kernel and programs are most affected. Also, for Mirai, seems like it mostly infects IoT devices with standard passwords.

This company looks like it may be a start-up making a splash for themselves. According to the report the most common malware on the Linux systems is the Metasploit interpreter. Does someone want to send them an email? Please avoid using long words.
