It may have something to do with the fact that nothing from IPW works properly, not even the windows driver works properly (hyperthreading, anyone?). Rather cancel your contract and get one of the iBurst modems - they have an ethernet port too, so you won't need to buy a ****ty IPW ethernet cash cow cable.
If you really must use IPW under anything other than windows, get an ethernet cable from one of the broadband shops. Keep your slip, they fail a lot.
