List of congested exchanges?

The Telkom Technician was just at my place, he got the specialist on the line and that bloke said that La Lucia exchange is NOT congested - now or before at any stage.

Honest advice I was given?
You should move back to Durban North as close to the exchange as possible.

I'm on it.....

I guess we all ****ing seeing things then, retards. How many complaints do they need before they pull their heads out their asses.

why not move away from ADSL and onto Fibre broadband? i work for a company called CipherWave, we recently started rolling out with Fibre broadband. it is much more reliable than ADSL, we offer a 99.5% up time guarantee on our fibre broadband, if you are interested, contact me on 072 674 7749, Jaco
Why is this not more widely known? Probably because the coverage footprint is ridiculously low, right? Or the prices are out of reach? Then why waste our time with your ads - fibre has nothing to do with adsl

Totaly agree with fragtion - fibre is waste of time for the mases in this country

So i assume the exchange isn't getting upgraded to 20mbps in march? With 2 weeks to go it sure as hell doesn't seem so.

Massive congestion in Stellenberg, Cape Town. I've been struggling with this for over a month now, and Telkom's closed seven fault tickets without actually contacting me about the problem. Anyone have any ideas whom I could contact?

Anyone connecting to the Rietfontein exchange in Pretoria? The last few weekends and week nights the 2nd hop latency on tracert has been 120ms at best (but generally over 200ms and as bad as 600ms), leading me to think that the exchange has also become congested. Reported to Telkom twice already. No luck.

Table View exchange is horrible right now. Local latency seem to spike to 300-400ms between 17:00-20:00 every day like clockwork. Connection is fine during the day however. Local latency stable at 15ms then.

Bellville North is back up to its old tricks...

pings at 600+ at the first hop...

SilentCynic You are probably on the same exchange as me as i also stay in Stellenberg

012 667 is congested, has been for at least 2 weeks now:

Obviously, the standard respons of 'We have reported this, and we'll get back to you' is used every time I try to query status from Telkom.

Anyone in the Centurion Clubview/Eldoraigne area with latency problems?
Its been getting worse for the last two/three weeks now.

All tests from an Afrihost unshaped account but I get similar results from Web Africa and Telkom guest account.

There is no 1ms first hop because I use a manual connect pppoe connection.

La lucia members.

Tonight was the first night in I'm not sure how long were I got decent speedtests.

What's the story? I find it hard to believe we are sorted out.

Morningside, Durban - 031208xxxx connected to Overport NDVT03 exchange.

Confirmed by Telkom as congested, any idea what to do from here?
4Mbit line can barely run a speedtest at times and the lagggggg to LoL EUW servers is just, shocking.

Slightly off-topic, could someone please point me to the website that tells you on which exchange your line is located? My exchange is definitely congested and would like to post some feedback here too.

Know this post is old but has your problem been resolved? Would you happen to be on the exchange on C/O Lyttelton Rd & Old Jhb Rd?
